"I'm dying!" I groaned, dramatically rolling off of the couch in the common room and crumpling up into a ball. There was such a huge pile of homework in front of me, it could probably last me two or three months.

But NOOOO, it was ALL due tomorrow.

Olivia snorted.

"You think I'm not? But at least I'm TRYING, unlike you. I'm trying to pass first year with decent marks."

Wow. We were pathetic. Hermione on the other hand, wasn't.

"Listen, first year probably won't matter in our lives," I said reasonably. "As long as I pass, I'm all good this year."

Hermione rolled her eyes.

Ava flipped her hair, saying about how fabulous she was because she had "good grades."

"You're just jealous of us lazy students!" I said in my sassy voice.

"Sure, sweetie," Ava laughed. "In your dreams."

"Lily, will you come to the Library with me? I need to look up dittany..." Harry asked hopefully.

"Ugh, fine!" I got off of my butt, and walked towards the portrait hole. "Anyone else wanna come?"

Silence.

"Oh, thanks," I grumbled, swinging open the door and stepping out. Harry followed.

We started walking, when Ava called after us to get her some ice cream from the kitchens on the way back. I rolled my eyes, smiling a bit.

We finally reached the library, and walked in. Harry and I looked around for some books on dittany for a while, and found three or four. After Harry sat down and took a few notes, we got up and started heading out, when I noticed somebody standing near one of the shelves, holding a book about dragons.

"Hagrid!" Harry and I both exclaimed in surprise, running over to where he stood.

"Shh!" Madam Pince hissed, looking up from her old granny book to glare at us.

"Sorry, ma'am," Harry apologized.

She looked back down at the book, satisfied.

"Jeez," I muttered. "So, Hagrid, what are you doing in the library? Don't you have adult stuff to do?"

Hagrid glanced at me with a smile.

"This kid is gonn' be the death o' me... anyways, how are yer's doin'? Haven' seen ye'r in a while..." Hagrid looked down at the book nervously.

Harry and I glanced at each other, identical expressions on our faces.

"Ye'r not still lookin' fer' Nicholas Flammel, are ya'?" Hagrid said.

"We already found out who he is," Harry said.

"Yeah," I continued, "and Fluffy is guarding the Sorcerers-"

"SHH!" I got cut off by Hagrid placing a large hand over my mouth. He glanced around nervously.

"Look, come over later, I'm not promisin' yer's no information, jus' come. Alrigh'?" Hagrid walked off nervously, still holding something behind his back.

"What do you think he was holding?" Harry asked, looking at me.

"No clue, but we can figure it out later. Let's go get Ava her ice cream before she murders me," I said, and then I pulled Harry out of the library.

Soon enough, we had returned to the common room. It was useful having a friend like me who knew where the kitchens were, and how to get into them.

"You got it!" Ava squealed, grabbing the ice cream from me and hugging Harry quickly before going to sit on the couch.

"Duh, what would of happened if I didn't?" I smiled, rolling my eyes.

"What were you guys doing?" Hermione glanced up from her paper for a moment.

"We were in the Library, if you listened the first time instead of reading your STUPID book!" I joked.

"We saw Hagrid," Harry added.

"He had something behind his back," I said.

"What was it?" Olivia questioned, stealing a bite of Ava's ice cream. Ava pulled the container away from Olivia, shielding it with her arms as if it were a baby.

"No clue," Harry admitted.

"I saw him in the Dragon's section the other day," Ron said.

We all turned to look at Ron.

"Dragons? Aren't those illegal in Britain?" Olivia asked, frowning.

"Yeah. But he's Hagrid, so..." Ron said.

I cracked a smile at what he had said.

"Well, Harry and I are going to visit Hagrid tonight," I said.

"Oh god. Can we not have a fight again about who gets to go with the twins?" Hermione groaned. "Only three of us can fit, and-"

"THIS IS WAR!" Ava screamed.

Harry went to sit next to her.

"Ava, you mentally ill child, this is why we don't love you," I said in a sarcastically sweet voice.

"Ron's coming with us, Lily," Harry said.

"But what about Ava or Olivia or Hermione?" I said.

"No, Ron is!" Harry said.

"Ron went last time!" Ava complained, making herself comfortable by laying her head on Olivia's lap. "Besides, I never ever get to go, because I always have detention..."

"Same here! You think I don't?" Olivia said.

"Why can't we all go?" Harry said, trying to break up the argument.

"Because there's only one cloak, doofus!" Ava flicked Harry on the side of the head.

"The rest of us will just have to be careful," I decided. "It'll be dark, the ones in the cloak can go first. It's the easiest way, we probably won't get caught."

I'd never seen Hermione look so anxious.
