"I was visiting Hermione, and I found a ripped out page of a book about basilisks," Harry explained as we ran down the hallway, Ron by his side, and Olivia by mine. Strangely, Ava was nowhere to be found, but we had no time to look for her. "It said that if you look a basilisk in the eye, you die on the spot. Hermione didn't look it in the eye-"

"She was holding a mirror!" I finished, gasping. Harry nodded. "We should go to the staff room and wait for Professor McGonagall."

We began heading in the direction of the room, running the whole way. I almost tripped, but Olivia caught me, hoisting me back up.

"Remember when we saw the puddle outside of Myrtle's bathroom? Well, Mrs. Norris must have seen the basilisk in in the reflection of it, her attack happened right outside of it. Colin saw it through his camera, Justin through Nearly-Headless Nick, and Hermione and Penelope Clearwater through a mirror!" Harry exclaimed. Dang, I didn't realize he was so smart. "The paper said spiders flee before the basilisk. It all fits. The only thing I don't understand is that Hermione wrote 'pipes'."

Olivia gasped.

"Pipes, Harry, pipes! The voice you've been hearing is getting to you and Lily through the pipes, and you can hear it because you're parseltongues, and the basilisk is some sort of snake," she explained. We entered the staff room, closing the door behind us. "Guess who's dead and lives in a bathroom?"

"The entrance must be in the bathroom, Myrtle looked the basilisk in the eye, and must've died from it!" Ron said.

"Ron, you said something actually smart!" Olivia smirked as Ron scowled.

"All students return to their dormitories immediately. All professors, please report to the staff room," McGonagall's voice sounded through the empty hallways.

"Not an attack, not now!" I groaned. "This can't be good"

"What do we do? All of the Professors are coming here," Ron whispered in a panicky voice.

"Here, get in," Harry said from a small closet in the corner of the room. "We can listen to what they're saying."

The four of us piled into the closet, barely fitting.

"Lily, your butt is in my face, move!" Olivia hissed.

"I can't-" I began, but remained quiet after I heard the staff room door swing open.

"Everyone gather around," Professor McGonagall croaked. I heard shuffling, and the door closed again. "It has happened. A student has been taken into the Chamber itself."

It took all it had in me, and squeezing Harry's hand, not to gasp. My heart dropped into the bottom of my stomach.

"Oh, who is it? How can you be so sure?" Flitwick cried.

"The monster left a message. It said her skeleton shall lie in the Chamber forever," McGonagall said through what sounded like tears.

Madam Hooch burst into tears.

"Who is it?"

McGonagall sucked in a deep breath, and exhaled.

"It is believed to be Ginny Weasley."

My heart felt like it had just dropped into my stomach all over again. I frantically looked over at Ron, tears stinging in my eyes. He slid down the wardrobe door a bit, looking sick to his stomach. I threw my arms around him, standing on my tip-toes so that he could cry into my shoulder. I don't think I'd ever seen Ron this upset.

Tears formed in my eyes. I remembered the energetic, funny, crazy little ginger girl that had been one of my closest friends over the summer. I pinched myself, praying that this was all a nightmare, but it wasn't. It was reality. That must've been why she started acting all weird when she got to Hogwarts...
