Harry and I had to go our separate ways with Ron and Hermione, since we had to take the secret passageway back. While we climbed through the tunnel, I was trapped in my thoughts about everything I had just heard. The passageway was very long, for the record."I just can't believe our dad and Sirius Black were best friends, and he betrayed dad," I said quietly, finally breaking the silence.
"He deserves to pay for what he did," Harry muttered.
"At least we have each other through this," I sighed. "Nobody else really knows how it feels, do they?"
"Yeah, I suppose," Harry said. "Except for Ava, of course."
I stopped dead in my tracks.
"Oh my gosh," I said, mentally face palming. Dumb Lily! "I totally forgot that she's in such a similar situation."
"That would mean we're... god siblings?" Harry said, sounding a bit disgusted.
"Me and Ava are god siblings?" I exclaimed, continuing to walk through the passageway. "That's amazing! Wait- isn't that like, incest for you?"
"It's not incest, is it?" Harry shuddered. "We aren't blood related, so I don't think it is."
"This is gonna be hard to tell her," I said. "But I hope she doesn't get all upset that her dad betrayed our dad."
"This is Ava we're talking about," Harry said. "She probably will."
I sighed, my thoughts running loose again. It was not very pleasant, and I knew it happened to Harry too. Harry had always been a bit of an over thinker when it came to things like this, but I wasn't until last year. I'd changed a lot.
I guess my thoughts were the main source of my anxiety. I just got trapped in my own head, and couldn't get out.
After a long period of silence through the passageway, we were finally in Hogwarts again. We looked both ways to make sure nobody was watching before running out of the passageway. It was around dinner time, and all the students were returning to the castle.
"I'm not hungry tonight, I'm gonna head to the common room. See you later?" I said to Harry.
He gave me a hug, and we went separate ways.Today had been such a crazy day, from everything I just learned to what happened with Fred. Every step I took felt like I was dragging myself towards the common room, and I felt like I could burst into tears at any moment. I turned the corner, and just my luck, Fred was there.
His expression was so much different than his usual happy, silly self. He looked sad, and empty. I glanced at him quickly, and our eyes met, but I quickly looked down, increasing my pace. Remember, Lily, this was for his own good.
I felt a pang in my heart, and wished that my life wasn't so complicated so that we could be together. I already missed the way he could make me feel safe, the way he could brighten up my day with his jokes...
This was so not like me! I was usually an upbeat, optimistic, crazy person, not some sad, moping mess. It felt like a piece of my heart was missing, and the added weight of the whole Sirius thing didn't help.
"Lily, are you okay?"
I glanced up, snapping out of my thoughts. It was Lavender.
"Oh, hi Lavender, I'm just a little bit out of it, sorry."
"Are you sure?" Lavender asked, concerned.
"Not really, but it's okay. Don't worry about it," I waved it off.
