"He's not going to answer the door," Ron said as him, Hermione, Harry and I walked down to Hagrid's cabin."Then we'll make him," I said determinedly. "He can't keep this up, he just can't."
We knocked at Hagrid's door, shouted for him to come out, and I even threatened to pick his lock, but it was just an empty threat. The only response we were met with was Fang barking.
We didn't see Hagrid for the rest of the week, and Grubbly-Plank continued teaching his lessons. It was really boring without Hagrid, I missed him a lot.
It seemed like every time Malfoy saw me around the castle, he couldn't help but make a stupid remark to me about Hagrid. I don't even know why he did it, to be honest, maybe it was cause he knew he'd get a reaction from me. But I wasn't going to let him get away with his stupid little comments, who did he think he was?
But luckily, there was a Hogsmeade trip in mid January, so that was at least something to look forward to. Ava was spending the day with Dean, and Olivia was spending the day with the boy from Beauxbatons that she went to the ball with. She seemed really interested in him, but he could barely speak English, so I think they just snogged most of the time, to be honest.
"I'm surprised you two are coming, to be honest," Hermione told Harry and I as we walked through the snow towards Hogsmeade. "I thought you would want to take advantage of the common room being quiet- to work on those golden eggs, I mean."
"Right- the golden eggs," I said.
"We've just about got them worked out, right, Lily?" Harry lied, looking at me.
Truth was, I had completely forgotten the egg even existed.
"Right," I said, catching Ron's eye.
'Liar,' he mouthed. I stuck out my tongue at him.
"Lily, you're going to stay with us today, right?" Hermione asked. She hadn't seen Ron.
"Nope, she's not."
Fred popped out of nowhere and wrapped his arm around me.
"Oh, come on," Ron groaned. "You steal her from us every time, you want to stay with us, right, Lily?"
"Lily has no comment," I said.
"We're both being ditched, Ron," George's voice said from behind me.
"What a tragedy, you two," I snorted.
"Truly unfortunate," Fred added, and we ran off laughing.
A little while later, Fred and I found ourselves in The Three Broomsticks, after we had already stopped at Zonko's, of course.
Whenever we went to Zonkos, Fred would walk around the entire store and point out each product, telling me a story about when he used it.
We sat in a cozy little booth in the corner, drinking butterbeer and making each other laugh. Fred had just finished telling me I had a butterbeer mustache when something- no, someone- caught my eye at the bar.
Ava's mum, Angela, was sitting at the bar. She looked worried about something, and she was talking to a girl who had bright pink hair.
Last time I had seen Angela, I had caught her talking to Lucius Malfoy with my Omnioculars, and it was pretty suspicious, because why would she be talking to him?
"I'll be right back," I mumbled, slipping out from my side of the booth.
"What? Where are you going?" Fred asked, getting up to follow me.
