"Ava! Where is my hairbrush that you borrowed?" I shrieked, frantically throwing everything in my trunk. I still hadn't changed, brushed my hair or teeth, or finished packing, and we were leaving in an hour."Ginny has it," she called from her and Olivia's room.
"Ginny!" I yelled, not realizing she was right next to me.
"YES?" Ginny yelled in my ear, giggling. Okay, so maybe I wasn't the best person to deal with last minute things.
"Where is it?" I said.
She took my hairbrush out from her bag, claiming she accidentally had put it in there. I rolled my eyes, mumbling a quick "sure" before throwing everything else in my trunk. I put on some black leggings, a random shirt that I didn't like, and stole one of Ginny's dark green jumpers to cover up the ugly shirt (Petunia bought it for me.) I put my hair in a ponytail, brushed my teeth, and I was ready. I know, outfit on point. Not.
I dragged my trunk outside, and let Mr. Weasley put it in the car for me.
"How are we going to fit nine kids and their trunks in this car?" I asked, glancing over the small car.
"I may have charmed it to be a bit bigger on the inside. Don't tell Molly though," he said quietly. I smiled, nodding, and skipped away to go find Ava.
"Ava? Where are you?" I called, looking through the house.
"Over here, you can go to Hogwarts without me. I'll be fine, alone. Forever," she called, her voice a bit squeakier than usual. I ran to where her voice came from, and saw her standing with her trunk, her hair was a bright shade of pink.
"What happened?" I exclaimed, running over to examine her hair closer.
"Fred and George put some magic hair changer thingy in my shampoo, and now my hair will be stuck like this for two months. I don't want anybody to see me like this!" Ava cried.
"Girls, hurry, we're leaving in ten minutes!" Mrs. Weasley called.
I started talking faster.
"Listen, I know how to change it with a spell that I read in a book. Don't give me that face, yes, I know how to read. You just have to wait until after the feast. Until then, you're gonna have to rock that pink hair, got it?" I said. She nodded, still looking a bit panicked. "Look, I'll change mine to be pink too."
I squeezed my eyes shut, and tried to turn my hair pink. I'd never tried to turn my hair another color purposely, I wondered if it would even work?
When I opened my eyes, I looked at a piece of my hair, and it was pink. Metamorphmagus powers were the best.
"Yes!" I fist pumped. Ava laughed, grabbing my arm and skipping out of the house with her trunk. At least she felt better now, and if I do say so myself, I was totally rocking that pink hair. I thought that should change my hair different colors every day.
Ava and I were the last ones in the car, and when everybody asked what happened, Ava told the story about Fred and George and about how I changed my hair to be pink. Mrs. Weasley screamed at Fred and George for two minutes straight, until Ginny screamed. Mr. Weasley almost crashed into a tree, and I jumped and hit my head on the roof of the car.
"I forgot my diary!"
We had to turn around just to go get Ginny's diary. Special child. Three minutes later, Harry randomly bursted out, "Wait, I forgot one of my books!" I almost smashed his head through the window. Not literally, because that would like, kill him, but still. We went and got Harry's book, and by the time we got to Kings Cross Station, we had five minutes to get on the train. Ava and I ran ahead into the barrier, and waited for Ginny and Olivia before getting on the train to find a compartment. Hermione joined us a minute or so later. We were about to leave, and Harry and Ron still weren't here.
