5: the blue jeep

the next morning i got up at 10 to go and have breakfast. i decided to have some yogurt and fruit because i was going to need energy for the day. Harper got out of her room at about 11. i asked her where jack was and she said he went to the hotel last night because he had last his computer there and needed to do some late night work. i took her word for it and headed to go and get showered. after i got showered and dressed it was about half 12 so i decided that i should start heading down to the hills walkway entrance. i drove there because it was almost over the other side of Los angeles as we lived nearer to santa Monica.

i arrived there in some runner shorts, my new top and a baggy muscle top that was white. i parked my car on the side of the road near the shops and made my way down to the start of the hiking trail. the time was 12:50 so i waited some more for them to arrive. i saw the two of them heading down on their longboards while Grayson was waving at me. as they got closer to me i could tell that Grayson wanted to ask me something as he skated faster to get to me.

"did you drive?" he asked

"yeah i did. why?" i asked back

"oh. i was wondering if we could put our longboard in the boot of your car, if thats ok..." he then said to me.

"yeah of course..."

we all headed down to my car with the two of them speeding off on their longboards.

"is it this one?" Ethan said pointing at a ford fiesta.

"uh... no, guess again" i was trying to get them to guess which one was mine and luckily the hadn't passed it.

"ah! i bet its this monster over there!" Grayson said pointing at a huge car that was intimidating. i looked at him and laughed because it really wasn't something i would drive.

"yeah i didn't think it was this one... buy it was worth a guess" he said as he skated further down the road. Grayson then pulled out his phone and took a snapchat of me walking behind him... he told his snapchat that he was looking for my car and he kept getting the guesses wrong.

"i bet it's this one..." Grayson then said pointing at a blue jeep wrangler.

"yeah!" i then said

"no way!... you have a jeep?! i love jeeps!" he then said as he stopped skating and then picked up his board and walked to the car. i unlocked the car so they could put their boards in the back.

"this is a nice car," Ethan then said as he shut the boot of the car and started walking towards me.

i nodded my head and said that i had only had it for about a month.

"so how do you manage to drive it if your only 16?" Grayson asked me as we started to walk back towards the entrance.

"im 17... 18 in a month," i then replied with. "i bet your 16, arn't you?" i then asked him.

"no were 17,... 18 on the 16th of December." he then replied with.

"so are you ready?" Grayson asked me as he put his bag on his back.

"more than ill ever be" Ethan said

"yeah lets go!" i said to finish everything off.

for around an hour we walked up a giant hill and then we started to climb up an even bigger hill. i stayed at the back for most of the time because i felt quite out of place.

"oh yeah... I've been meaning to ask you, whats your surname?" i asked slightly out of breath

"Dolan" they both said around the same time. they both seamed pretty out of breath as well but managed to keep on going.

we got around half way up and decided to take a quick break. i sat down on the sandy ground and looked out at the view. Grayson was over the other side of the perch taking snapchats of everything. he zoomed in on me recording and told whoever was watching that I'm Ava... i then waved at him and smiled. he then told the people that i was British and a nice person. Ethan came to sit down next to me.

"he always films snapchats." ethan said whilst half laughing, "i do too but he definitely does it more"

i looked back at Grayson and then at Ethan.

"what do you two do exactly...?" i then asked Ethan.

"were viners..."

"viners?... what does that consist of?" i then asked him

"well... we also have a youtube channel but i guess vine is what were known for."

i said that what they did sounded quite cool and then took a swig of my water.

"come on guys... lets get up the hill..." Grayson said as he made his way back over. he decided to tag along next to me for the rest of the hike and also because he wanted to catch up with me. Ethan was ahead running up the hills and then jumping and things whereas me and Grayson gave the hike a bit of a leisurely walk.

"what have you been doing the past few days?" Grayson asked.

"not much to be honest... I've just done work and other boring stuff," i said with a slight laugh.

"are you doing anything next weekend?" i asked him out of interest.

"well... me and Ethan are going back to new jersey for a week to visit our mum and say hi to everyone..."

"that sounds fun... didn't know that you guys were from new jersey..." i then said surprised

"yeah... we moved here about 6 months ago for more opportunities..." he then said.

after another hour we reached the main lookout point of the hill which captured all of Los angeles.

"wow... this is amazing!" i said looking around,

"yeah... i know..." Grayson said standing next to me. "Ethan! we should get some pics for our instagrams!" he said passing me his phone. i had just noticed that we had the exact same phone. Ethan came down from a higher perch and stood next to Grayson. they made me take about 50 photos before the perfect one was found. Grayson then handed Ethan his phone so he could take some pics of us which was a bit strange as i had only known him for a few days. he put his arm around me and i gave the photo my best smile and pose...

"wow... you look great in this photo!" Grayson said to me pointing at the first picture.

"thanks..." i said whist blushing slightly.
