9: secrets

"guys! hurry up! were meant to be at the beach right now!" i said shouting at Harper's room

"were coming!" she said shouting back.

i texted Grayson to let him know that we hadn't left and that Harper was being a pain but other than that things were good. he replied back with a love heart. over the past few days he had started being more flirty and attractive. i felt the urge to ext him and call him more than before. Harper and jack came out of the room and put everything by the front door ready to leave. James said he was going to come over and we had to go and pick up Lucy and zack from their hotel room.

"ok... is everyone ready?" i said as i checked myself in the mirror one last time.  i had decided to wear a crochet sweater over the top of my black bikini. i paired the sweater with my high waisted shorts and some flip flops. today i was planning to go in the water so i packed a towel and everything i needed. i had put my hair in a pony tail which ended at my shoulders.

"we're all good!" james said as he burst through the door, me and james got in my car and Harper took Lucy and everyone else once we got to the hotel that Lucy was staying at. we arrived at the beach almost 20 minutes late.

me: were at the carpark near the refreshments stand.

grayson: we'll come over.

me: x

grayson: stop flirting with me x!

i saw a group of boys heading towards us at the car park. Grayson was shirtless and wearing blue swim shorts and flip flops. Lucy whispered to me that i should date him before he gets ugly so i elbowed her lightly after laughing for a bit. i waved at Grayson to show him where we were. i introduced everyone.

"Harper, jack, Lucy, zack and james... this is Grayson, his twin Ethan, and thats Nate and Alex."

everyone said hi to each other and me and Grayson just sort of stood there.

"its great to see you Ava..." he said whilst laughing at everyone else.

"you too..." i said looking up at him and smiling

"your such a flirt!" He said,

"i didn't even say anything!" i said laughing.

"hey! lets go and sit!" he said as he spoke over everyone.

we all went and sat over on the sand. Alex and zack pulled over a few sun loungers for everyone.

"Ava! you never told me he was hot!" Harper said with Lucy agreeing.

"well... he's ok i guess" i said as i looked over at him and waved.

Ethan, nate, Alex, jack and zack all went off to go and get drinks and food for everyone. the rest of us talked for a while and Harper and Lucy only seamed to want to talk to Grayson. when the others came back over Harper asked a strange question.

"have any of you considered modelling?"

i looked at Harper wide eyed and shook my head,

"uh... nates a male model..." Alex said looking at Nate. all of the girls turned to Nate. i just laughed and watched them gawp at Nate.

"i mean... your all really good looking," Harper said after gawping.

"hey... heres your boyfriend!" jack said and pointing at himself which made everyone laugh.

"what about you girls, ever considered modelling?" Grayson said whilst looking straight at me through the circle.

"well...." Harper started "she is,"

i put my head down and started to take sips of my drink through the straw. all eyes were on me. i looked around the circle and saw that Grayson had his eyebrow raised and was smirking.

"tell them then..." Harper said whilst indicating for me to tell them.

"well thanks for that Harp... and yeah i am," whilst sitting up straight. i ended up telling them all about that which wasn't as long a story as when i usually tell people. i looked straight at Grayson who was listening to the story and smiled. he smiled back. Ethan elbowed him after my story was finished indicating for him to go and play catch with the rest of the guys. Grayson got up and walked off over to the others. i then later got up and went for a paddle with Lucy in the sea. Harper stayed over at the loungers sunbathing.

"you do like him... don't hide it" Lucy said to me when we were a few feet in

"yeah... i kinda do..." i said back

"i could tell... its not hard."

i ended up telling her about the girl from the bus stop and how she told me not to break his heart and that kind of made me realise that i would hate to do that because i like him. i peered over at him and he waved and blew a kiss which was really cheesy.

"i recon he likes you back..." she then said looking over at him as well

we splashed each other for a bit and pushed each other in the water. we were laughing our heads off. Harper then came over to join us as zack and jack came to sunbathe for a bit.

"he's watching you..." Lucy said

"who? Grayson?" Harper asked

Lucy nodded her head and they both turned around. we carried on messing about in the water and giving each other piggy backs. the rest of the boys came back over and sat down with jack and zack. they were all getting along really well and it made me quite happy. i walked out of the water and Grayson gave me a towel. i sat down on one of the loungers for a bit. Ethan had fallen asleep and everyone was pretty tired and hungry. once i dried my body, i put my jumper and shorts back on and slipped into my flip flops. me and Grayson went over to mcdonald's and got everyone some food.

"so... i saw you looking at me a lot..." he said with a grin on his face

"get over yourself" i said laughing "my friends won't shut up about how hot you are" i said jokingly,

"do you think I'm hot then?" he asked me

"you're pretty cute..." i said whilst smiling and carrying food back from the restaurant. i looked down at the floor and then over at my friends

"you are too..." he said out of nowhere. i looked down and blushed.

once we arrived with the food everyone was happy

"we got food!" Grayson shouted whilst holding up the bags

everyone cheered and started to eat. Grayson came and sat next to me. Ethan looked at him and raised his eyebrow. i looked back and fourth at both of them and watched their strange communication ways. eventually i gave up and started eating my burger. we were all listening to music and having an amazing time as a group. i didn't want the night to end. when the time got to around half 6 Grayson looked up and me and whispered something to me "walk with me..." he said as he gazed into my eyes. i started getting butterflies as we stood up and went for a walk. i turned around and smiled at Harper and Lucy who were gawping at the sight of me and Grayson walking off together.

"today has been great..." he said as he intertwined his fingers to mine,

"yeah... I've had so much fun... its great that everyone gets along," i said back holding his hand. the butterflies were getting worse.

we stopped in our tracks and he turned to face me. he was only inches away and my head stopped around his chin and i looked up at his eyes. he gripped my other hand and we stood there for a few seconds staring in each others eyes. he bent down and whispered "don't hate me for this-" i cut him off and said that i couldn't even if i wanted to and he kissed me... he kissed me. with no hesitation, i kissed him back. nothing was awkward as we continued to kiss in front of the sunset. it was perfect.i felt bad for some strange reason and stood there looking at the water to the left of me.

"we should get back..." i said as i broke our hands apart.

"uh...yeah," he said hesitating.

we both wandered off back to our friends. we both sat on opposite sides of the circle. we both said nothing for the rest of the night.
