The after party held at night was alive and boisterous, and Luhan lost himself in the excitement, laughing and playing around with his friends, playfully shoving them around while eating a small tuft of cotton candy on a stick.

The Healer appointment proved he had nothing to worry about - in fact, he should have been excited. The lady had told him that the reappearance of his wolf was only a great sign that he was close to being claimed by a ready Alpha. The scent thing was simply his body telling him a compatible Alpha was near. The news had shocked him into silence and he had left with a grin that spread from one side of his face to the other. Lay celebrated with him, jumping around in their dorm room, before they headed out for the booths and games that were lined up outside on the front lawn of the University. Eager to find out who his future Mate could possibly be, Luhan scouted out the freshmen Alphas, giggling with Lay whenever they made eye contact with them.

Eventually, the night eased down to darkness, and the full moon rose tall and proud in the sky. Headmaster Cid decided to start a bonfire, and all of the Okami students were pleased to see at least a thousand roasting pigs held over the open flames. Luhan smiled along with everyone else, howling to the moon to thank it for their generous feast.

"This year's freshmen orientation seems better than the others," Lay commented, grinning as he bit into his slab of pork. Luhan nodded vigorously in agreement, happily chomping away on his serving of food.

"Maybe it's the freshmen. They're all so sweet, and the Alphas are very attractive," he said back. Lay nodded along, passing Luhan a napkin.

"I think Kris was right, maybe this year will change for all of us," he said quickly, smiling. "Maybe we'll finally get claimed!"

"Yeah!" Luhan pumped a fist in the air, taking another large bite of his pork, his tail wagging happily behind him.

Wait. "Lay, oh my god."

Lay saw as well and smiled wide, gathering Luhan into a hug and shaking him about. "You're in half-transformation! I never thought I'd ever see this, your ears are so cute!"

Luhan blanched, reaching a hand up to his head and gasping as his fingers ran along soft fur. His ears twitched at the touch and he tugged at them, surprised to find them even there. He hadn't half-transformed since he was...well, since he was still a puppy. The feeling of his ears under his fingers almost made him cry. He dropped a hand to his butt at the same speed, and gasped when he felt the fur of his tail under his fingers. Quickly, he turned around and caught sight of it, wagging happily behind him. He was finally coming into his Okami heritage. Lay snickered, pulling away and ruffling his hair, scratching just behind his ears.

"Things are definitely changing for the better," he said breezily, and Luhan slowly grinned again. He couldn't find anything to say; he just smiled, clapping his hands joyfully and dancing around the table. Lay joined him after a last bite of pork, and they danced the night away.

By the end of the night, both Omegas were tired to the bone and filled to the brim with high hopes and glee. Luhan couldn't be more pleased - he'd caught the eyes of at least three Alphas and they had all introduced themselves to him pleasantly. Luhan was over the moon by the time he went back to his dorm room with Lay, flopping himself onto his mattress. Lay mimicked him, staring up at the ceiling with an ear-to-ear grin.

Luhan turned to him and giggled, pulling the covers up to his chin. "I saw that one Alpha looking at you. The really pretty girl, Minyoung?"

Lay blushed in the darkness, mirroring his actions and curling up under the covers. "She may have expressed interest."

"Oh my god, did you talk to her?!" Luhan asked, his eyes widening in surprise, excited. Lay just blushed again, fidgeting with his fingers.

"Maybe," he allowed, smiling softly. "But I don't want to get my hopes up! She told me she had a really big crush on one of the new freshmen Omegas."
