Justin
"My baby!" A familiar voice screamed, waking me up. I lifted my head up from Kai's stomach, our hands were still intertwined together.
I looked around, Kai's parents and my mom were in the room. Willow's parents were outside, all of our siblings were sitting
together."Come on, sweetheart. Let them have some alone time with their daughter." My mom mentioned for me to come outside with her.
I kissed Kai's forehead before walking out with my mom."Madison. Hannah, do you mind watching Mia while I go on a walk with Justin?" My mom asked the two girls. Cameron was walking around with Willow and Riley.
"Yeah, no problem. Ms. Mallette." Madison smiled at her.
"Thank you so much girls. And sweetheart.. Please call me Pattie." She told Maddie and grabbed my hand.
We started walking down the hallway towards the front of the hospital. "Mom, I really don't feel like taking a walk right now." I mumbled.
"Just trust me you need it. Don't worry we won't leave the hospital we'll just walk around it." We walked into a room that was filled with couches. No one was in there, so my mom had us sit in there. "Come on, now let it out." She wrapped her arms around me, and placed my head on her shoulder.
I immediately burst out into tears. I don't know what it is about your mom's hugs that make you break down.
"I feel so.. so guilty. So ashamed of myself, mama." I cried into her neck.
"And why is that, baby?" She held my hand, rubbing her thumb against my mine.
"I-I just should've listened to her. Now she's in this coma and I don't know when she'll wake up. I can't lose her, mom. I can't lose another bestfriend."
"Justin, all we can do is pray. She will be fine, her angels are watching over her. She will wake up when she is ready. Until then all we can do is wait and pray."
"Mom, I don't think I can take this." I said starting to cry again, tears falling down my face. My mom grabbed my face with her both of her hands.
"Now you listen to me. And listen to me clearly. You will get through this. You will be there for her as long as takes for her to wake up. We can have your teachers send you SAT's and you will do them here. I told you, we will get through this baby. She's going to love you just as much as she did a few days ago. Now, no more crying. She would want you to be strong for her." She paused wiping away my tears. "Now, come on let's go back to her room." She patted my leg, I sat up with her and grabbed her hand. She stood on her tip toes to reach my neck. Her only being four-nine, she struggled to do so. I hugged her back, thanking her for everything.
It was ten at night when we got back to the girls room. Her parents and Madison went to stay at a hotel across the street. Riley got Willow her own room, and they'll be there for a few days. Mom is also leaving with Mia because she has to get back to work.
"Juju, when is my Kai Kai going to wake up from her nap?" Mia asked me as I helped her put on her jacket.
"I don't know, baby girl. Kai Kai is super duper tired, so she might sleep a long long time." I explained to her.
"Well how will she eat?" She questioned looking at Kai's lifeless looking body.
Why do kids ask so many questions?
"Well there's a little food fairy, the comes three times a day and swirls her wand around to put food is Kai's Kai's belly."
"That's so cool. But how will she go potty-"
"Mia, that's enough questions for today, my little lamb. Your brother is really tired, so come on let's go to the hotel. Give your brother a kiss goodbye." My mom told Mia.
"Bye juju. I love you so very much." She jumped into my lap and gave me a peck on the lips. "I love you too, baby girl."
She ran out of hold and ran up to Kai. "Hey Kai Kai, it's your bestest friend Mia. I miss you a big ton and so does juju. He wouldn't want me to tell you this, but he cried so so much today. So, if you wake up that would super good, because we don't want juju to be sad anymore. I love you Kai Kai, see when you wake up." She tried to whisper but I could hear every word she said. She let go of Kai's hand and ran to our mom.
"Bye baby, I'll call you before we go on the plane tomorrow. Be strong and know that everything will be fine. I love you." My mom kissed my check and left the room.
I walked around and moved the couch that was in the corner of the room, right next to Kai's hospital bed. I grabbed the remote and flipped thorough the channels.
Teen Wolf appeared on the tv, "Babe, you're favorite show is on." I watched a few minutes before saying something else to her. "Why do you like this show? It's seems so corny. I already know what you would be saying right now." I lightly laughed. "You always explain how the first season, it seems terrible because it's cheesy effects and acting. But if I keep watching it will get better."
After about two hours of watching Kai's favorite, I turned it off and tried to go to sleep. I grabbed her hand, "I hope you don't take months to wake up, I don't think I can wait that long without you. And it looks like it's going to be just you and me these next few weeks."
"And I need my partner in crime... My other half. It's always going to be us, babe. And you know why?"
"Because there's nothing like us."
