The Letter

I cried as I drove home on the freeway. I know what you're thinking, but don't worry. Justin and I are okay. I dropped him, Pattie, and Mia off at the airport. A family member is sick in Canada, so they're going to be there for a month.

I pulled into my driveway and parked the car. I grabbed my carton of ice cream that I had bought from the grocery store and headed inside.

My mom looked at me from the kitchen. "Oh don't give me that look." I scoffed.

"You're being-"

"I know I'm being selfish. I know that, I'm just going to miss him that's all. For majority of the summer, my other half won't be here. Just let me eat away my misery." I pouted.

"What did I do to deserve such a dramatic daughter?" She laughed while seasoning some chicken. "Just make sure to come down for dinner. Oh and mija." She said stopping me while I was on the stairs. "There's something for you on your bed."

"Thanks mom. Love you." I finished walking up the stairs and opened the door to my room. There were roses all my over my bed. I sat my ice cream down and rushed over to my bed. There was a letter sitting there. "Babygirl." was written on the top of the envelope. I grabbed it and opened it as fast as I could.

Kai,

My beautiful girlfriend. My babygirl. My princess. My queen. My future babymama. My other half. I remember you saying you loved receiving letters. So here's one for you.

Babygirl, I know you're disappointed that I don't get to be there with you during half of summer break.. And trust me I am too. And I know how you can be when you're sad. And trust me when you're sad it brings everyone's energy down.. Just know I'll be back in thirty days, so put on that beautiful smile for me, okay?

We've been dating for nine months but it feels like I've been with you for years. You, Willow, and Riley have made this past year so fun for me. And after Dylan's death, I didn't think I could truly be happy again. But baby you've made the happiest I could ever be. And I love you so much for that.

We've had a few downs but we've had many more ups. And I hope to have many more with you. We've both helped each other through our struggles. You know what they say? God gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers . And we've won some of those battles. I love you so much baby, it almost hurts.

You know babygirl? I always ask myself why me? Why did God give me such an angel like you? I love you so so much, Kai Rose.

Omfg you guys I can't believe I've finished my first book. This is crazy like wtf...

After trying to write this book for three years. I've finally did it.

I want to thank everyone who has given this book a chance. I really appreciate the ones who comment. Y'all make my day. You guys are my fave.

I'm ending this book with 5k reads.. I'm so happy. Hopefully more people will read it in the future.
