"No, no stop. I didnt mean to forget to take out the trash. I got really distracted doing my homework, it wont happen again I promise." *smack* " That will make you think twice you ungrateful mutt."
I woke up in the hospital gasping for air and Jacob trying to calm me down, Jennifer stood at the end of my bed giving me the look of pity.
"Agent Jareau please dont give me that look." I said still gasping for air
" Please dont call me Agent Jareau." She responded
"What am I suppose to call you, mommy or mom?" I replied disgustedly
"Britt, dont be rude." Jacob said
"No, shes right. You can call me JJ. I better get going, I can tell Im not wanted. Jacob you have my number please keep in touch." JJ said and walked out
"Really, Britt. That was rude, shes trying to help." Jacob said disappointed
"Im sorry. Its just that she wants to now be part of my life after giving me up twenty years ago how am I suppose to process that." I apologized. Jacob kissed my forehead and whispered "its not me you need to apologize to".
I looked at him with tears welling in my eyes and said "We were going to be parents."
He looked at me back and said " I know, you were only four weeks along."
We both looked at each other with tears coming from our eyes. We both lost a child that would have grown up with a loving house hold I wished I could of had.
Two weeks later
I sat at the dinning room table looking at the business card JJ had given Jacob and picked up my phone.
"Agent Jareau"-JJ
"Hey, JJ. Its umm Britt."-Britt
"Hey, Britt" her voice seemed to get quieter " I thought you would never want to talk to me again." -JJ
" About that, I really wanted to apologize for what happened at the hospital. It was out of line and I regret it all. You just wanted to be there for me and I pushed you away, because I was scared." -Britt
" Its fine, you lost your baby, woke up from a nightmare, and found me your birth mother. I understand all the emotions that were going threw your head at the time."-JJ
"I was actually calling to ask if you wanted to go to lunch this Saturday with me and wanted to talk some more?" -Britt
"That wound be wonderful, Im actually on a case right now and should be home on Thursday. I will text you if anything changes and we can plan where to eat than." -JJ
"Alright, that sounds great. Good luck on the case, talk to you soon." -Britt
"Talk to you later Britt."- JJ
Jacob came home from work upset. And I took him to his favorite bar knowing once I got alcohol in him he would be better. We get to the bar only to find out it was closed for renovations. We walked back home stopping to get pizza and ice cream. Once we were back at home I told him that I called JJ.
"Babe, thats awesome!" Jacob said ecstatically
"Im a little nervous thought, I mean shes married and has two other kids. How would she tell the who I am?" I said to Jacob
"Well she could always say "Hey kids, this is your sister I didnt want so I gave her up for adoption twenty years ago"" Jacob laughed as I punched him in the chest.
Our night was going perfect until a knock at the door interrupted it. We opened it to see a detective and our nosey neighbor standing out front.
"Is there a Britt Anderson here?" The detective asked in a thick accent from the south
I nodded and invited him in
"Ma'am, Im detective William LaMontagne, and I have been notified from the Baltimore PD that your aunt and uncle have just been murdered." He said in a sad voice
I fell to the ground gasping for air as Jacob held me in his arms.
