Time Changes Everything

Chapter 64

"It might not be him." Jacob said breaking the silence before JJ ran to the emergency room
"Mom!" I yelled at her
"Go. I will wait for Micheal." Jacob said
I ran after her and saw her about to bite off a nurses head
"I need to know if my husband was one of the detectives." She said with anger
"Mom. Stop its going to be fine." I said trying to push her away from the nurse.
"No, I need to know. And I need to know now!" She yelled before getting hysterical
"Jennifer?" A man questioned walking up behind me
"Dave, wheres Will?" She asked trying to pull herself together
"He was about to leave the office to come here for Micheal. But they got a call about the shooter and dropped everything and went to the scene." He said before he had to catch her from falling
"So my dad was shot?" I asked about to break down
"No. He was called in after the shooting happened. He took down the shooter. He should be arriving on an ambulance with his partner." He said as we both caught a breath of relief
"When he gets here tell him we are in the pediatric unit waiting for his CT and MRI results." I said trying to help JJ walk back towards Jacob in the waiting room we were in

We get back in and Jacob was talking to the doctor.
"Mrs. LaMontange, I was just explaining to your son in law that Micheal suffered from a small seizure that is normal for kids his age. He should be good to go in the next couple of hours." Dr. Robbins said smiling
"Normal?" I asked confused
"Yeah. Henry had one at four as well." She said as if it was fine
"Was one of them Will?" Jacob asked wanting to be filled in.
"No. But his partner Jordan was shot." JJ said sounding a little upset
We waited in Micheals room with him while JJ filled out the release forms
"So does our family get a punch card?" A southern accent asked walking into the room
"Thats not funny Will." Mom said standing up and giving him a huge hug
"Daddy!" Micheal yelled getting excited
"Hey little man. You feeling better?" He said picking him up
"A little." Micheal said than going into detail about his experience
"We are going to go get Henry from school." Jacob said reminding me we need to get him
"Alright, we will see you at home." Mom said giving me a hug "and do not give him ice cream before getting home." She yelled out to me as we walked out
