Time Changes Everything

Chapter 96

I went in first and got everything set up before I told them they could come in.
"So your her birth mom?" Debra asked sitting in the chair and JJ on the floor
"Yes, I am." JJ answered back confidently and proudly
"Can I ask?" Debra asked looking between the two of us
JJ told her the whole story about her giving me up.  
"Oh. We should have never judged you before we knew Jens story." Debra said looking down
"I mean thats not even the worse part." I sad sarcastically
"Dont. " JJ said giving me her knock it off look
"Why she might as well know." I said rolling my eyes
"Fine, but I want to hold Rae when you do tell." She said looking at me
"Well your in luck she just finished." I said trying to get Rae out from under the blanket
She took her and I looked at Debra
"Now before I tell you I dont want any sympathy or anything like that. You cant blame yourself either for being rude to me." I said wanting her to understand
"Ok, I wont." She said nodding
I told her the whole story. From age eight to me leaving. JJ wiped a few tears away from her eyes as did Debra.
"Im sorry." She said looking at me
"It turned me into who I am today. And Im promising Raelynn that she will never have to feel unwanted." I said looking over at her
"I didnt know thats what you went through." Debra said still in disbelief
"Well it was for ten years." I slightly laughed
"We were so mean to you all the time and we didnt know your back story." She said looking at me
"Its fine. I have tough skin." I said standing up to fix my shirt
"No its not. We judged you without getting to know you. I want to get to know you. Ive seen you around Jacob and how much love you have for him. You are a new mother and already so great with Raelynn. But I want to know the real Brittney LaMontange." She said pulling me into a hug taking me as a surprise
"Alright but once you break my trust its over same goes with Jacob. We are trying to stable our lives." I said pulling away
"Help me get to know my son better. I hurts when he refers to Jen as his mom. No offense." She said looking at JJ
"None taken. I love him like my own." She said holding up her free hand and smiling
"I will try but thats up to him. I dont push him into doing things he doesnt want to do." I said knowing how well I know Jacob
"Babe!" Jacob yelled indicating pizza was here
"Lets go eat. What do you want me to do with her?" JJ asked standing up
"I will take her." I said reaching out to hold my sleeping baby

We walked downstairs and I was not surprised to see Jacob having Will in a head lock and Mike and Henry no where in sight
"Mommy." Micheal said running from the kitchen
"What buddy?" She asked picking him up
"Dad said I was next to battle Jacob." He said hiding his face in her neck
"Only cause dad knows you will beat Jacob." I said laughing
"Bring it little man." Jacob said laughing and getting on his knees to be at his level
Micheal was put down and ran full force towards Jacob knocking him down. He mimicked the moves Jacob and Will always did and put Jacob in a head lock
"I guess daddy isnt as strong as we thought." I laughed walking with Rae to the kitchen to grab pizza
"Hey BB. Hey Rae" Henry said sitting on the counter as Mike held tissues to his nose
"What the hell happened?" JJ asked coming in behind me
"I slipped." He shrugged his shoulders and I knew he wasnt telling the truth
"Im not dealing with this." Will said stepping in than leaving
"Will" JJ yelled following him as Henry jumped off the counter
"Your family is great." Mike said laughing
"Thanks." I said grabbing a plate and a slice
"Can I hold her? It will be easier to eat."He said washing his hands
"Uh sure. Thank you." I said with a small smile as I handed her to him
"She really is beautiful. You two created a beautiful angel." He said not looking up
"Thanks." I said actually enjoying this night with everyone

The night continued on and we ended up playing monopoly as teams. Everyone went home and Rae went to bed calmly and peacefully
I laid down next to Jacob and he pulled me closer.
"I cant believe my grandpa has cancer." He said out of no where
"Its going to be ok babe." I said drawing circles on his chest
"I know. My parents should get another chance." He said kissing me on my forehead
"If thats what you want we can babe. I did tell your mom my whole story." I said quietly
"Im proud of you and our family." He said pulling me on top of him and started a heavy make out
"Your daughter is going to interrupt us you know." I said in between kisses
"I know but Ive missed this body." He said flipping me over to get on top and right on cue she started crying
"I will get her." I laughed putting his shirt back on and leaving to go get her.
