Chapter 45

"Garcia, what are you doing here?" JJ asked distracting her from me
"Oh, no dont Garcia me." She said with a finger raised at her
"Henrys fine. He broke his growth plate sliding into home." Will said laughing
"First, I find out from Emily and now Im hearing theres going to be a new BAU baby." She said getting worked up
"BAU baby?" I asked confused
"I saw your internship file come through and you got in for working with the BAU, but thats besides the point." She said fast
"Wait, what?" JJ said looking at me
"I got in!" I said standing up to give Jacob a hug
"You didnt tell me you applied for that spot." JJ said
"Cause I didnt think I would get in." I said looking down
"They were more than impressed with you. But I will let Hotch talk to you about that. You two on the other hand have some explaining to do." She said looking at me ans Jacob
"I mean, its pretty obvious how I got pregnant. We had.." I started before Will interrupted "Do not finish that sentence."
We all started laughing.
"So how far?" Garcia asked
"Almost two months. But we are here for Henry not me." I said diverting it again away from me
"Thats right." Jacob said sitting back down on the floor next to Micheal
"Britt, lets go for a walk. I need some fresh air." JJ said and I followed her out

"Alright, what do you need to say to me?" I asked cracking a smile when we stepped outside
"Why didnt you tell me you applied for the internship spot?" She asked sounding a little sad
"Im not use to having a mom in my life and wanting to be supportive and try to help. It was scary enough for me to apply anyway with my past." I responded
"And now your expecting and still have to finish school. Its going to get hard for the both of you." She said in a motherly way
"Well, the internship starts after I have this peanut and I did a new program that was more credit hours and I will have both my masters and bachelors when I graduate this spring." I said putting my hands in my pockets
"Why havent you told me any of this? Your education is important to me and now we will be working together. I already worry about you but now I have to worry about you in the field." She said putting her arm around my shoulder
"Im going to be fine, its just an internship Im not an agent. Yet." I said cracking a small smile
"I remember when I first saw you a couple of months ago." She said reminiscing "Micheal was throwing a fit that morning not wanting to go to day care. I walked in and your back was to me and you were talking to Reid."
"I was asking for you cause we had a meeting." I said telling a little bit of my side
"Yes, and you turned around and pretty much my world stopped. I thought I was looking in a mirror from the past. We were going to do it at my desk but I had a feeling you were going to make a scene or something so I took you into my old office. I knew right away you were my daughter. And Im really sorry I gave you up or didnt reach out to you sooner." She said as she stoped walking to look at me
"Its fine. Life would be completely different if you did. You might not have met dad and had the boys, I wouldnt be with Jacob." I said smiling at her
"After we met, I called my mom on what to do. She told me to go after and to not let you slip away again. So I had Garcia run a complete background check on you. Thats how I got your address and why I showed up that night. Im not going to let you go." She said pulling into a hug
"I know you wont." I said as we pulled away
"Lets get back inside. It looks like its going to rain." She laughed and we went back in
When we got in Garcia was still there but Jacob was missing.
"Hey, dad where did Jacob go?" I asked confused
"He got a phone call. It sounded serious." He said looking up from his phone
I waited there playing with Micheal until he came back looking upset.
