Time Changes Everything

Chapter 26

"Will you knock it off?" I said stepping in the middle of them
"Mom Dad, chill out." I said to them
"And you two. If you even cared about Jacob you would realize that he loves me and I love him. We got married a few days ago in a court house. Alright so if you dont like me or whatever your deal with me is, drop it. Theres is a reason why we didnt go to the spring gala and why we probably wont be spending Thanksgiving with you. Jacob doesnt like how both of you treat me and neither do I." I snapped at them
"Mrs. Nolan." Dr.Grey said
"What?" I asked turning to her
"Come with me please." She said in a soothing way
I followed her to a private room
"That was brave out there." She said closing the door
"It felt kindof good. How is he Dr.Grey?" I asked
"Your husband is perfectly fine. He had some complications when he first came in. He has a serious concussion and had some internal bleeding we were able to stop it all." She said as all my nerves went away
"Do you know what happened?" I asked
"He was coming back here when a truck ran a red light and hit him on the drivers side causing the car to roll. Hes very lucky he was wearing a seatbelt and walked away with internal bleeding and a serious concussion." She said looking down as I played with my left finger
"When can I see him?" I asked
"You are one lucky girl." She said to me
"How?" I asked a little irritated she would tell me where he is
"He told me before we put him under that if anything happened and he died to promise him that you got your ring." She smiled and opened the door as a way for me to follow her "I thought you might like some alone time with him. I will go tell his parents and your parents that he is fine, but I wont tell them where he is." She smiled as we stopped in front of a door
I walked in as tears filled my eyes and seeing him with cuts, bruises, and tubes connected to him.
"Oh, babe." I said walking over to the left side of the bed sitting down and holding his hand
"You dont need to wake up yet please get your rest. I love you so much Jacob." I said wiping the tears from my eyes and kissing his forehead
My phone went off and I looked at the text from JJ
*Hey, his parents went to the hotel and will be back tomorrow. Just me and dad. What room are you in?*
*3420* I responded back
A slight knock made me lift my head to see JJ and Will come in
"Hes going to be ok." I said with a slight smile
"We know." JJ said coming over to me and giving me a hug
"Hes crazy in love with you Britt." Will said looking down at his feet "He begged me to give him a ride to Pittsburgh so he could buy you a ring from Tiffanys." He said looking up at me with blood shot eyes "I gave him the car keys. I should have went with him. Im sorry Britt its all my fault." He said letting some tears fall
"Dad, its not your fault. He was hit by a guy who ran a red light. If you both went you both would be in here." I said walking over to him and giving him a hug
We all sat around Jacob through out the night all eventually falling asleep. JJ woke me up saying they were going to get coffee and if I would want any and I said yes
I felt Jacobs hand twitch in mine and I looked over at him as his eye fluttered open.
"Hey, honey." I said quietly
"Hey, no tears Im right here." He croaked out
"I thought I lost you." I said still with tears
"But you didnt." He smiled
"Your parents came here. Mom called them and they all got in a fight and I joined in." I said still looking into his eyes
"I dont care. I know my real family is here. JJ, Will and you." He said still smiling "Go look in that bag." He said pointing to it in a corner
I pick it up and found a little black box and brought it back out to him
"So, I never gave you a ring and I went to get one and now we are here." He said grabbing it
"Britt, you are my forever. I cant wait to marry you again in front of our friends and family the real way. So, Britt Nolan will you marry me again?" He asked
"Yes." I cried as he slid the ring on to my finger
"Now theres another thing." He said after we pulled away from the kiss
"I dont really like your last name or mine." He said
I looked at him puzzled but before we both could say something we got interrupted by his parents.
This is not going to be good. I could tell by their faces once they saw the ring on my finger.
