Chapter 63

I picked up Micheal and we ran to the car to take him to the ER. I sat in the back with him in my lap as Jacob drove. We park and rush in side.
"Hi how can we help you?" The lady asked
"My little brother woke up and his eyes started rolling back in his head and was shaking." I said without taking a breath
"Its going to be fine."she said walking around to take him from me
We followed her into an exam room and waited for the doctor.
"Do you want to call mom or do you want me to?" Jacob asked breaking the silence
"You." I whispered out as I had my head on my arm and was holding Micheals hand not wanting to talk to her. He came back in 10 minuets later.
"Shes getting a flight right now to come home." He said sitting down next to me.
"This is my fault." I said starting to cry
"Babe its not your fault. We were on our way here anyway." He said rubbing my back trying to make me feel better
"My four year old brother is in the ER when I was watching him." I said still crying
"Should I call dad? He is still in the city." He said reminding me
"Yeah. He might be in an interrogation." I said looking at Micheal as he woke up
"Where am I?" He asked getting scared
"The hospital." I said kissing his forehead and noticing it was still warm
"Can I sit on your lap?" He asked
"Yeah buddy. Down in my chair or in the bed?" I asked him smiling
"In your chair." He said a little excited
"Alright buddy." I said picking him up and placing him in my lap
A knock at the door caught my attention when it was Dr.Robbins that came in
"Oh, nice to see you again." She said cheerful
"Yeah." I said laughing
"So, Micheal is it?" She asked kneeling in front of us
He nodded and turned around to hid into me and I mouthed her sorry
"Micheal can I look over you to see how you are doing?" She asked as I put him back on the bed
"BB!" He yelled wanting me to still hold him
"Im right here little man." I said holding onto his hand trying not to cry
Jacob walked in and whispered in my ear the Will picked up but wasnt able to come down yet and that one of his lieutenants answered the phone. He noticed I was getting emotional
"Go get some food and something to drink I will sit with him." He said
"No. Britt stay." Micheal said whining
"I will stay." I said holding his hand
Dr.Robbins did all the test and Micheal only freaked out about the blood being drawn.
"So I have to take him down for a CT scan and a MRI." Dr. Robbins said giving us an update.
A half hour passed as we sat in the waiting room
"Im looking for my son Mich.." I heard before Jacob called mom over
"Im so sorry." I said standing up and crying into her arms
"Hey, its ok." She said comforting me
"Something happened to him in my care. Its not ok. Im going to be a terrible mother." I said pulling out of her hug
"I can guarantee I know what happened to him". She said walking over towards Jacob
"Hey Jacob." She said giving
"How do you know?" I asked
"Because it happened to Henry around the age." She said nonchalantly
Doctors and nurses all of a sudden started rushing around us.
"Whats going on?" Jacob asked a nurse stopped in front of us
"Uhhhh, a shootout 4 officers down and two detectives." She said looking at her paper work before walking away
