Time Changes Everything

Chapter 22

I woke up to an empty bed which was unusual for me. Jacob always sleeps later than me. I walked out of my room trying to find where he was. I peeked into Henry and Michaels to see if they were still asleep and they were. I listened into Will and JJ's and heard them still sleeping until I heard a quiet laugh that I knew belonged to Jacob.
I walked down stairs to find him sitting at the counter talking to Sandy, I stopped to over hear them.
"So, you are really going to allow us to get married in your barn out back?" Jacob asked
"Of course I am. Why wouldnt I? You are already married this time just a bigger ceremony." Sandy said back "Are you going to invite your family? They are able to stay here is they want, I dont mind." Sandy continued
"Thank you for your generosity. But they will probably be wanting to stay in a hotel if them come." Jacob said
"Why wouldnt they come to see their son get married?" Sandy asked Jacob
"Well I am known as the failure of the family. Im originally from New York and got accepted into NYU's law program to follow the steps of my father and two older brothers. I didnt want to become like my father so I went on a little trip to Georgetown to meet up with some of my friends who went to school there. We went to a girls soccer game and I watched this beautiful blonde score goal after goal and I told myself I need to meet her. One of my friends was dating her roommate and thats how I met Britt. I turned down NYU and applied to Georgetown against my parents wishes because I wanted to know her better. My parents cut me off only paying for my schooling. When Christmas came around I took Britt home with me to celebrate it with me and my family. They took a liking to her fast, until my dad being himself had a back ground check done on her. He started asking her question after question knowing she was adopted. The argument ended with my parents telling me shes only interested in me for the family money. Britt didnt know at the time my family is wealthy but she didnt and never has care. We only see them twice a year one for a spring gala the other for Thanksgiving. We didnt go in the spring so we probably wont go for Thanksgiving. So, if they come great, if not whatever cause I feel more welcome with this family." Jacob said
"You really do love her dont you?" Sandy asked after his long explanation
"Yes, mam I really do." Jacob said and I couldnt help but smile
"Please call me Sandy. You are part of this family Jacob." Sandy said
I walked in stretching and yawning making it seem like I wasnt listening in the whole time
"Well isnt it just Miss take up the whole bed." Jacob laughed as I sat down and Sandy poured me a cup of coffee
"You two should go into town today." Sandy said chuckling at Jacobs comment
"Why cant we just stay here and hang out with you?" I asked taking a sip
"Because I noticed you both dont have rings and should probably buy some." Sandy winked at us as she pointed to our hands
"Grandma, we dont need rings to prove we love each other." I laughed back
"Whatever." She laughed back "But you should really go into town and see it. It might be a small town but there is a lot of unique things in the shops." She continued.
"Alright we will go in." I laughed taking another sip
"Go in where?" JJ asked holding Micheal
"Into town for some shopping." I smiled reaching my arms out to hold on to Micheal as she fixed herself a cup
"I heard shopping and I am not a fan of that." Will said walking into the kitchen with Henry hot on his heals
"Me and you both Will." Jacob laughed
"Than stay here, Im sure mom would love the company." JJ laughed taking a sip
"No, I need my alone time with my boys." Sandy said giving Henry a kiss on the head
"Well than Im going to go get ready." I said standing up giving Jacob a kiss on the cheek
