"Fuck, Reese, come on!"

I waited by the door, my foot tapping on the ground. I heard a door shut, then saw my younger sister walking towards me.

"Jesus Christ, you're so impatient. Let's go," she rolled her eyes and swung the door open, walking in front of me.

"We're late," I stated, shutting the door and locking it. I unlocked the car and got in. "On our first day."

"Boo fucking hoo," she mumbled. "We'll still be there. So who cares?"

This time, it was my turn to roll my eyes. I didn't respond as I pulled out of the driveway. Reese was dressed in blue jeans, a sweatshirt, and vans. Her hair was also curled. I wore black skinny jeans, black vans, and a black t-shirt.

Minutes later, I pulled into the school. For a moment, the two of us just sat in the car. I looked over at her, locking eyes with her.

"You'll be okay, right? You can find your way and stuff?" I asked.

"Yeah," she nodded, giving me a smile. "I got this, okay?"

"Okay," I nodded, getting out. I locked the car, and we walked into the school together. "I love you."

"I love you too," she smiled, then went on her way. I waited until she turned the corner to look ahead.

I then began to walk down the hallway, shoving my hands into my jean pockets. There weren't many people in the hallway, seeing as class has already started.

I took my schedule out from my back pocket, unfolding it and looking at my locker number. I easily found my locker, unlocking it and opening it. I put my things in my locker, and grabbing my stuff for English and History, then closed it.

I sooner or later found the English classroom. I took a deep breath and opened the door. At once, everybody looked up like robots, all in sync.

I walked up to the teacher's desk, "Uh. Sorry I'm late. I'm new, Y/N Smith."

She smiled at me, "I'm Mrs. Bailey. Today we're just working on a packet. Do as much as you know, and if you need anything, let me know," she handed me a packet. "Take a seat anywhere."

"Thanks," I murmured, running a hand through my hair. I wonder if Reese found her class this easily.

I took a seat next to a girl with long brown hair.

"Told you we had a new student," Camila whispered over to Dinah. The two were watching as the new girl talked to the teacher.

"You did? I don't remember," Dinah frowned.

"It's cause you don't listen," Camila rolled her eyes, then leaned back into her seat as the new girl came over to her.

She put her bag down, then sat down next to Camila. Camila looked at the girl, taking in her features, then returned to her work.

Y/N sighed, easily going through the packet. Though she was locked up for about thirteen years, she was smart. She guessed she was born that way, easily educated. She blew through the other classes when she first started school. Teachers were shocked and surprised, given they only knew about her past.

Y/N furrowed her eyebrows, she wondered if the teachers knew about her. If Mr. Wake informed them about her. Her eyes went up to Mrs. Bailey, who was scribbling stuff down on paper. If he did, they're doing a great job at not showing it.

Y/N was halfway done with the packet. She noticed other students still on the second page, so she slowed down, taking her time to look out of the window, and the people around her.

Y/N looked at the girl next to her, slightly awed by her beauty. Camila looked up at Y/N, and gave her a small smile. Y/N gave a small smile back, then returned to her work.

The bell soon rung, and Mrs. Bailey informed the students to finish the packet for homework. Most people groaned since they finished. So far, Y/N has no homework.

Y/N packed her things up and began to walk out of the classroom. She looked at the number next to History, and that class was only down the hall.

When Y/N walked into History, she introduced herself to the teacher, Mr. Brown, who told her to take a seat. She sat in the far corner, slouched down.

"Yo Y/N!"

Her head snapped up to see Lauren sliding into the seat next to her. Lauren wore all black, like Y/N, but with a leather jacket.

"Morning, Lauren,"

"Morning indeed," Lauren grinned. "How do you like it here so far?"

"It's okay," Y/N shrugged. "School is school."

"Cool, cool," Lauren nodded. "So, you're sitting with me at lunch."

"Okay,"

I don't eat much. Never have, never will. I gave most of our food to Reese when we were locked up. We didn't get much, two meals a week. I did drink a lot of water, though. As much as I could. Reese and I would split it, half and half. Some days we were lucky, though. Two bottles. One for her, and one for me.

I now sat down next to Lauren, silently drinking my water.

"Y/N, this is Ally and Normani," Lauren introduced me. "Y/N is new here, and my neighbor."

"Hey," I waved at them.

"Hi!" Ally grinned at me.

"What's up?" Normani also smiled at me. These three people seem nice enough.

I could already tell that Ally radiates a lot of positive energy. I liked that in some people, and Ally seems like that type of person. Normani looks like a chill type of person, but when you piss her off, she'll snap.

"So all the seniors have the same lunch bell? Along with the other grades?" I asked, wanting to check up on Reese.

"Yeah," Normani answered with a nod.

"Okay," I mumbled. Now I can't check on Reese, because we have no bells together. She's in a different grade.

"Uh, ex-girlfriend walking over," Lauren alarmed Normani. I raised an eyebrow, looking to see a tall blonde girl walking over to us. She's in my English class.

"Hello, Dinah," Normani greeted. "What can we do for you?"

Dinah looked at me, then Normani, "Camila here takes an interest in your new friend."

Camila? Who's Camila?

"So why doesn't she get up and come over here herself?" Lauren retorted.

"She's shy, we all know this," Dinah chuckled. "What's your name?"

"Uh, Y/N," I scratched the back of my neck. "Who is Camila?"

Dinah pointed to the familiar girl. I sat next to her in English. She smiled at me, and I swear my heart skipped a beat.

I smiled back.
