Love is a scary thing. You give your heart to somebody, trusting them not to break it. Your heart is like glass to you, but to the person you give it to, they could care less and treat it like any other object. To some people, your heart is just a toy to play with, to pull the string and manipulate you.

But, if you truly love and care about someone, and they feel the same about you, then why do they leave? They always leave, no matter what.

And maybe, if you're lucky, they'll sometimes come back.

"As much as I would love to lay here with you, I have a class to attend to," Reese murmured, adjusting herself in Lauren's arms.

Lauren groaned, her eyes fluttering open, "Why?"

"Because I need an education," Reese softly chuckled, brushing a strand of hair out of Lauren's face.

"I know, I know," Lauren sighed. "I have to get to work too."

Reese yawned, sitting up. Instead of staying at Reese's dorm with Quinn, they went to Lauren's apartment. Reese threw on Lauren's flannel that was on the ground, it was thigh length on her.

"I have an idea," Lauren started, propping herself up on her elbows. "We can save time and take a shower. You know, conserve water and all?"

Reese grinned a bit, "I like the way you think, Jauregui."

Dinah walked into the place, eyes looking around the walls. She heard music, and she walked further in to see Normani dancing, by herself. Class didn't start for another thirty minutes.

"A dance teacher?" Dinah inquired, causing Normani to stop and turn to Dinah. Normani sighed, shutting the music off. "I'm impressed."

"I can say the same for you," Normani said. "Five years in the Navy. You haven't given up yet."

"No," Dinah shook her head, "I haven't. But I thought about it."

"What made you change your mind?" Normani asked, curious.

Dinah glanced down at the floor, then back up to Normani, "My fiancée."

Normani's breath hitched, and she felt her heartbreak even more then it already has. She stared at Dinah, shocked. She only thought she had a girlfriend, but she's engaged?

"Five fucking years, Dinah," Normani scoffed. "At first - it was all fine, us writing to each other. I thought we were gonna work this long distance shit out. But then you stopped, and I cried and cried. I thought something happened to you, Dinah!"

Dinah bit her lip, quietly speaking, "I'm sorry."

"And then I tried to moved on - and I couldn't!" Normani exclaimed. "I couldn't because I was still in love with you! And I still am!"

"I'm engaged," Dinah mumbled, shaking her head.

"You could've sent a letter, saying you were okay," Normani whispered. "That you were happy."

"I - I need to go," Dinah muttered, walking out.

"Yeah. Leave again! You seem to be great at that!" Normani shouted as Dinah walked out.

Normani furiously wiped her tears away, pressing play on her music again.

I got my phone out as it started ringing. I saw Ally's name pop up, and I answered it.

"Hey Als," I said once I answered.

"Hey!" she said. "I hate to ask, but I need a favor?"

"Sure, what is it?" I asked, taking a bite of my cereal.

"Well, I was watching Ethan," she started. "Because Vero needed me to. But I actually have to go into work today; we have a big lead on this case. And I need someone to watch Ethan."

"Uh," I paused. "Yeah. Sure, okay. Send me your address, I'll be there in a few."

"Thanks Y/N! I owe you one," she hung up seconds later. My phone beeped, signaling I got the address from Ally.

I finished my cereal, putting the bowl into the sink. I was already dressed, so I just grabbed my things and left.

I pulled into the driveway, seeing a two story middle classed house. I got out of the car and walked up to the porch. I was about to knock, but the door swung open, revealing Ally.

"Hey, thanks again," Ally said. "His allergies are listed on the fridge, along with his sleeping schedule. His favorite TV Show is SpongeBob. Uh, and everything else is also on the fridge. Bye Y/N."

Ally rushed by me, leaving me standing on the front porch. It took me a minute to process what she had just said, but I eventually got it and walked inside, shutting the door behind me. I saw Ethan sitting on the couch, staring at the TV.

"Hey buddy," I sat down next to him. "I'm Y/N, remember me?"

He glanced at me and nodded, returning his attention to the TV. I shrugged and looked at the TV too.

Reese sat in her seat next to Quinn. They were in their literature class. The professor hasn't come in yet, leaving Reese confused.

"Okay, I know I'm late, but is our professor ditching class?" Reese asked Quinn.

"Oh, didn't you hear? We got a new one," Quinn responded. "Old one retired. I heard the new one is female and really young."

Reese furrowed her eyebrows, hearing the door open and closed. The class looked over at once.

"Hello class," she said. "I'm your new teacher. You can call me Ms. Cabello."

Camila stood behind the desk now, smiling with her eyes bright and her hands folded together. That is, until she locked eyes with Reese.

Babysitting was easier than I thought. Ethan was now sleeping on the couch, sucking his thumb. There was a knock at the door, and I'm guessing that's Vero.

I walked open to the door and quietly opened it, "Hey. He's asleep."

"Y/N?" she furrowed her eyebrows, "Where's Ally? And okay."

"Ally had to run into work, so I took over," I explained, letting her in. I walked over to Ethan, "Hey bud, wake up. Your mom is here."

His eyes opened, and he quietly groaned. I chuckled and picked him up, handing him over to Vero.

"Thank you," she smiled. "How can I repay you?"

I waved her off, "No no. It's fine. Besides, he's a good kid. If you need anyone to babysit him, I'm always here."

Vero smiled brightly at me, "Thanks, Y/N."

I locked eyes with Vero, "No problem."
