Five Years Later
Life turns out not the way you expect it to most of the time. It's a pain in the ass, honestly. In these five years, I have no idea what or how this happened.
I'm twenty-three now, now legal to drink. Reese is twenty, now an adult. Time flew by quickly for the both of us. Reese had graduated high school, now in college. I had graduated college, now living life in the real world.
From time to time, I wonder where my previous friends were. The ones in high school. Camila was right, we all did split apart. I would've thought at least one of us would stay in touch with each other. But that didn't happen.
I wonder if Dinah had ever graduated from boot camp or not. She had kept her promise to write letters to us, but that stopped after some months. I guess she got busy and decided to stop writing. I wonder where Lauren is now, if she's a top notch doctor or not. I wonder what Normani is doing, she really never told us what she was studying. I wonder if Ally had gotten her dream job as a chef or not. And then, lastly, I wonder what Camila is doing. If she's a teacher or a musician. Hell, I wonder about Camila every day.
Reese and I still carry around our secret, burying it deep inside of us. We don't talk about it anymore, nor do I keep files of it. I destroyed them, burned them. There's no evidence of Y/N and Reese Y/L/N. We're officially Y/N and Reese Smith.
I lived alone in my loft. Reese lived in her dorm with her dorm mate. Can you guess where she got into college at? Miami U. So, we're back in Miami again.
I was walking in the familiar park. This where Camila and I had our first date -- part of it. It was a sunny day out, and it wasn't too hot either. I wore black skinny jeans, a black t-shirt, and black vans.
"Ow! Shit!" I rubbed the back of my head, turning around.
"My bad, I should've controlled him, I wasn't watching what he was doing," a woman ran up to me, picking the ball up. "Ethan! Come here!"
"Wait -- " I paused, the voice sounding familiar. "Ally?"
Ally looked up, eyes widening when she saw me. A smile spread over her face, her arms wrapping around me. I softly laughed and hugged her back.
"Y/N, this is Ethan, Ethan, this is Y/N," Ally introduced me to the three year old looking boy. "Ethan, apologize to Y/N for hitting her with the ball."
"Sorry," he mumbled, cheeks flushing red. He had dirty blonde hair and tan skin, with brown eyes.
"It's alright bud," I softly chuckled. "Is he yours?"
"What? No," Ally laughed, waving me off. "I'm babysitting for my friend."
"Oh," I let out a sigh of relief. "I thought you had a kid, Ally. Don't scare me like that."
Ally laughed, ruffling Ethan's hair, "Nah. This is Vero's kid. You don't know her."
I nodded, "He's cute," I commented. "When are you free? We need to catch up."
Ally checked her watch, grinning, "Right about..now."
"Hey! Thank you, Ally, I owe you one," a girl - Vero - ran up to us. "Hey buddy!"
"Mommy!" Ethan grinned, hugging Vero. Vero laughed and picked him up, along with the ball.
"Don't worry about it," Ally smiled. "Vero, this my friend from high school, Y/N. Y/N, this is Vero."
"Hey," I waved at her, secretly checking her out. "Cute kid."
"Thanks," Vero laughed. "He's a handful, though. It was nice to meet you, but I have to get going."
"You too," I smiled at her, and she said bye to Ally and walked away. "She's a MILF."
Ally raised an eyebrow, laughing at me, "I know this bar up the street. Drinks?"
"Sure,"

Ally and I sat at the bar, drinks in hand. We set in silence for a couple of minutes, and I know she was dying to ask the question that I was dreading to answer.
"Where is she, Y/N?" Ally quietly asked after a moment.
"She's dead," I answered, and Ally gasped. "I'm kidding. Your face was priceless, though."
Ally smacked my shoulder as I took a sip of my beer, "Don't play like that! But seriously, where is she?"
I glanced down, licking my lips, "I don't know. California?"
Ally sighed, "What happened?"
"We broke up,"
"Y/N,"
"Ally,"
Ally ran a hand through her hair, "Okay. Uh, have you talked to any of the other girls?"
"Haven't seen or heard from them," I replied. "I'm guessing you haven't either."
"Yeah," she muttered, shaking her head. "How's Reese doing?"
"Good," I nodded. "She got into Miami U. But what about you, what're you doing now a days?"
Ally grinned, pulling something out of her pocket. She handed it to me, and I took it.
"No way! You're a detective or some shit?" I asked, handing the badge back to her.
"Yep," she proudly said. "After college, I went to a training academy, and here I am. A junior detective."
"Well I'll be damned," I said. "Ally Brooke Hernandez, kicking ass and taking names."
Ally laughed, shaking her head, "What're you doing now? I read your book, maybe a second one coming out anytime soon?"
"Eh," I shrugged. "I don't know. I'll get back to you on that one."
Ally nodded, "It was a good book."
"Thanks, I know," I said. "Kidding. But thanks. Have you been in Florida this whole time?"
Ally nodded, "Yeah. I can't seem to leave," she sighed. "It's home."
I nodded, looking around and taking a sip of my beer.
Home.

I sat on my bed, staring up at the ceiling. I played with the bracelet Camila had given me during our first year of college.
I felt tears come to my eyes, but I blinked them away. I turned my head, seeing a picture of Camila on the nightstand.
"Where are you, Camila?" I whispered.
