One Month Later, Miami
One thing I've learned this pass month is that life is too short. Any one of us could die at any given moment. We could die today, or tomorrow, or an hour later. We can't predict what the future has in store for us. So, live life while you can.
I knocked on the door, the bag of food in my hand. The door swung open, revealing Lauren.
"Hey," I greeted her, walking inside. "You okay?"
Lauren nodded, "Yeah. Ooh, food."
I chuckled and handed her the bag. I then walked into their bedroom, smiling when I saw my little sister.
"Hey Reese,"
She looked up from her phone, "Y/N. Hey, what's up?"
"There's food in the kitchen," she perked up, getting out of bed. Her ankle has fully healed, and one week from now and the cast on her arm will be off. "So, I came by to tell you guys something."
They ate as they watched me, causing me to chuckle. The couple looked like children.
I got the blue velvet box from my pocket, "I'm thinking about proposing again."
Reese swallowed, "Are you sure about this? What if Camila says no?"
I shrugged, "We promised each other we wouldn't run. We'll talk it out, figure it out."
"I say go for it," Lauren said. "They're in love."
"Okay then where is my ring at?" Reese turned to Lauren, eyebrow raised. "We're in love."
Lauren held up her finger, walking into their bedroom. I shared a look with Reese, who shrugged. Lauren soon returned, getting onto one knee. Reese's eyes widened.
"Reese, will you marry me?" Lauren pulled out a toy ring.
"Damnit, Lauren!" Reese exclaimed as I laughed. "I thought you were actually going to propose."
Lauren laughed, getting off of her knee, "Oops."
Reese rolled her eyes and slapped Lauren on the shoulder, "But yes Y/N, go for it."

Reese sat in her and Lauren's bedroom. Lauren was at work. She sighed, staring at the cast on her arm.
She hated that thing. It reminded her of the car accident, the pain, and seeing her mother. She told Y/N about it, who made no comment.
The first week was spent in the hospital, recovering. The second week was spent in physical therapy, allowing her to go home. The third week was spent getting settled back home. The fourth week everything was almost back to normal. Almost. Reese is physically fine, but emotionally? She's not. She's scared of cars, and every time she goes in one, she tries not to have a panic attack. So she walks instead. She walks to campus, to the store, everywhere.
Lauren is trying to get Reese to not fear cars anymore. Trying. It's not working, not yet, at least. Reese is also trying to comply with Lauren. Lauren said it's just going to take time, Reese agreed.

"Why are we at the beach so late?" Camila asked, slightly laughing.
I was nervous. No, I was beyond nervous. My heart was beating in my chest. So far, this seemed like a repeat of the last time I proposed. Hopefully I'll have a different outcome this time. Hopefully, in a couple of months, we will be married.
"Do you remember that dream you told me about?" I inquired, not answering her question.
"Yeah," she nodded, walking next to me. "Why?"
It was a full moon tonight. The stars were out and shinning in the sky. The sand was cool beneath our feet, and the waves peacefully crashed down.
"Well," I paused, turning to her. "What if I could say -- that your dream could come true?"
"Uh - what?" she furrowed her eyebrows, confused.
I took a deep breath, "I really hope you don't say no this time," I took the blue velvet box out, getting onto my knee. "I love you with all of my heart, Camila. And if you say no this time - you or me - we can't run. We will have to talk it out. So, Karla, will you marry me?"
Camila blinked, eyes wide, "Uh - yes!"
I smiled widely, feeling my heart burst into joy. I stood up and wrapped my arms around her, hugging her tightly. She hugged me back, laughing as she did so.
I pulled apart from the hug, slipping the ring onto her finger. She grinned, looking at it.
"I love you," I whispered, cupping her face.
She smiled at me, "I love you too, fiancée."
"I like the sound of that, soon to be wife,"

Normani knocked on Ally's door. She was bored since Dinah was out to see. She'd be back in two weeks.
The door swung open, revealing Demi.
"Hey Dems," Normani greeted.
"Mani, hey," Demi smiled, letting Normani inside. "We're in the kitchen."
Normani followed Demi into the kitchen, where Ally was baking cookies. She took the pan out, setting them on top of the counter to cool off.
"Hey Als," Normani said, sitting down at the counter. "What kind of cookies?"
Ally took a sip of her red wine, "Chocolate. You can have some when they cool off."
"Have you heard from Dinah?" Demi asked.
"Yeah," Normani nodded. "A letter came in today. I hope by the time she returns she isn't engaged again."
Ally and Normani laughed, while Demi looked confused. Demi raised an eyebrow at her girlfriend. Yeah, girlfriend. After the hospital, they went on a date a week later. And here they are. Dating.
"It's a long story," Ally said. "I'll tell you later."

Reese jolted up from the bed, sweat dripping from her forehead. She was breathing heavily when Lauren also sat up.
"What's wrong, baby?" Lauren asked, her voice raspy.
"I - I had a nightmare," she murmured.
"The car accident?" Lauren asked, grabbing Reese's hand.
"N-No," Reese was confused. "About my father."
"I thought they stopped?" Lauren questioned, now also confused.
"They did - years ago," Reese mumbled. "I don't know why it's back."
"Maybe it's not," Lauren reasoned. "Maybe it's just for the night."
Reese nodded, agreeing with Lauren, "Hopefully. Let's go back to sleep."
