Present Day, Miami

"I should go.." Vero trailed off, Ethan next to her. I was still staring at Camila, shocked that she was here.

"Uh," I cleared my throat and turned to Vero. "I'll call or text you, alright?"

"Yeah," she gave me a small smile. "Bye Y/N."

"Bye," I said. "And bye buddy." Ethan waved at me, smiling as him and Vero walked by Camila.

"So uh, he's not your kid?" Camila inquired after a moment silence.

I bit my lip, "No, he's not," I paused. "Why are you here, Camila?"

"Well," she ran a hand through her hair. "I got a job at Miami U, and Reese is in my literature class. She told me where to find you."

"So, if Reese wasn't in your class, you wouldn't even be here, would you? You wouldn't of even known I was in Miami," I stated, shaking my head. "You left me, Camila."

"You proposed to me," she retorted.

I scoffed, walking and leaving the door open for her, "Seems like a dream come true for other girls, Camila!"

Camila shut the door behind her, "I'm not like other girls, Y/N! We were only nineteen!"

I leaned against the counter, "So? People get married in high school all the time!"

"And those marriages end!"

"Not all of them!" I exclaimed. "Look at Nathan and Haley from One Tree Hill!"

"A TV show, Y/N," Camila said. "We were young! We still are! Imagine where we would be now if we had gotten married."

"I think we would've been happy," I said, arms crossed as I leaned against the counter. "I loved you, Camila. I really did."

Camila stared at me, eyes watery, "Did? Meaning you don't anymore?"

I didn't respond, I just stared at her, my face hard.

"I saw Camila yesterday," Reese quietly brought up, resting her head on Lauren's shoulder.

"How? And where?" Lauren asked, grabbing Reese's hand.

"She teaches my literature class now," Reese mumbled. "Like that's not awkward."

"You'll be fine," Lauren reassured her as Reese groaned. "What happened to her and Y/N, anyway?"

Reese sighed, glancing up at Lauren to see her staring down at her. For a moment, Reese just stared at Lauren, smiling. Reese noticed how in the light Lauren has freckles, and then how sometimes her eyes have specks of different colors of them. Reese leaned upward, kissing Lauren, then resting her head back on her shoulder.

"Y/N proposed to her," Reese started off. "And Camila said no and left her."

"Wait - what about college? Didn't they go to the same one?" Lauren asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah," Reese nodded. "Camila moved out of the apartment we were living in and moved into a dorm. After that year, they didn't have any classes with each other."

"Wow," Lauren muttered. "Crazy."

"Yep," Reese softly laughed, climbing onto Lauren's lap and straddling her. "I'm glad you're here, Lauren."

Lauren smiled up at Reese, "I'm glad I'm here too," Lauren's thumb brushed over Reese's hip. "I've missed you."

Reese smiled, leaning down and kissing Lauren.

"Normani, right?"

Normani paused the music, turning around to see a tall girl. She grabbed a rag and wiped the sweat off of her forehead.

"Yeah," Normani nodded. "You're Dinah's fiancée, right?" she glanced down at the ring.

Zendaya nodded, "I'm Zendaya."

"Nice to meet you," Normani responded. "Now what can I do for you?"

"Uh," Zendaya started off. "I just wanted to meet you. I've heard a lot about you from Dinah."

"Funny," Normani murmured. "I heard nothing about you. Oh - that's right, Dinah stopped calling and texting me."

Zendaya frowned, "She was busy in boot camp and being deployed."

"Apparently not too busy, I mean, she proposed to you, didn't she?" Normani scoffed.

Zendaya was still frowning, "I'll be going now."

Normani didn't respond, she just watched Zendaya leave.

I was still staring at Camila, my arms still crossed. I didn't know what to think or what to do.

When Camila left, so did my happiness. When Camila left, so did my life. Sure, I still had Reese and college. But I didn't have Camila, I didn't have the girl I loved.

You know, we take things for granted. We take the little things and we don't see how they effect us. We think nothing of them, we just use them and throw them out. I never, not once, took Camila for granted. I did anything and everything I could for her. I spoiled her with my love and my money and my heart. I went wherever she went. And I'm starting to think, maybe she took me for granted.

"Talk to me, Y/N, please," Camila pleaded, arms hanging loosely to her side. And then her right hand started playing with the hem of her shirt, indicating she was nervous.

"I may be young, Camila," I started off. "But I know what love is. I knew that we could've made it. And we probably still can - but as of right now? I can't stand to look at you."

Camila's face dropped even more. She blinked, slowly nodding, and then turned and walk away. I didn't stop her as the door opened and shut. After a moment of just staring at the wall, I grabbed the thing that was closest to me, then chucked it at the wall. It was Vero's water bottle, which was still opened, so when I opened it, the water went everywhere. I didn't bother cleaning it up as I walked out of the apartment.

All anybody wants in life is either love, happiness, money, or power. I have four out of three of those things. I have people that love me, for example, Reese. I have money, and I have power. Power over what? Power over my life. You do too. You control your actions and what you do or not.

I don't have happiness. The person that made me the happiest is the now the person that makes me depressed.

I just hope that it won't be forever like that. I hope that Camila and I will be like we used to. I just hope something good happens, even if something bad has to happen first.
