June's POV

During my whole stay in Willow High, I've never been, I say, I've never been in the library. Midterms are coming up so I have to double effort in studying. Well, it was free period, so might as well.

Calum has been a little busy with helping his dad in the office so he doesn't have time tutoring me, which I understand.

At least he changed his mind about helping his dad in the company, Uncle David had been weird for the last few days, as well as my dad. It's like both of them are hiding something from me.

I just shrugged it off, I mean it's probably not my business anyway. I was sitting at the back of the library so no one could bother me, it's just me and this blond dude up the ladder trying to get books from the top shelf. That was when I heard giggling coming closer to me.

"Oh if it isn't the snitch." Mina chuckled along with her co-cheerleader. "Can you please leave me alone? I'm just trying to study." I pleaded but it seems like they don't care.

"Oohh. Trying to get Calum's attention aye? He doesn't want you sweetheart, you're stupid, and will forever be one." I was about to respond when a bunch of books fall down from the top shelf.

"Aw! What the hell?" The other cheerleader complained. "I'm sorry. I had a lot of books in my hand, it just fell out of balance." The dude responded and both the cheerleaders just glared at him then back to me, and they ran out of the library when they heard the librarian.

Wait. The dude's voice sounds familiar.

The guy went down the ladder and approached me, "You shouldn't let those cheerleaders treat you like that."

"Uh, I'm kind of used to it though." I stood up and he helped me. Not a moment later, he chuckled. "What's so funny? Do I have anything on my face?" I pulled out my phone to use as a mirror but then he chuckled more.

"Do you really not recognize me?" I looked at the dude confused. His voice sounds familiar but I'm not really sure who it was from.

He then took out his glasses and pushed his hair up. My eyes widened. "LUKE?!"

"In the flesh." He smirked at me and I'm shocked as hell.

"W-wha-How did y-why-WHAT?" I stammered and he just continued laughing at me. "I've been here for the past half an hour, and you didn't recognize me?"

I slapped his shoulder and laughed with him. "Oh my God, you're really good. Are these real?" I reached out for his glasses and examined it.

"No, it's just props."

"So why the disguise?"

"Well, believe it or not, I was kind of popular back then before I moved to London, Calum and I, we're like the popular tandem. We were actually called 'Cake'." He wiggled his eyebrows upon saying that.

"What? Calum was just Calum when high school started, he didn't have like a tandem like you just said. Plus, I've never seen you before. And Cake?"

"Yes, because it was in middle school, I was sent to London before high school, so he was left alone. And Cake is Calum plus Luke, Cake. Wait, you didn't go here in middle school?"

"Wow. Props for the person who came up with that. And uh no, I was home schooled since I was ten, I went here when I turned high school." I explained and he nodded.

"Well, about the disguise, I don't really want anyone to recognize me, you know, I'm actually tired of being popular, I was popular, too, back in London."

"Yeah, right. Aren't you full of yourself." I shake my head and he gasped putting his hand on his chest.

"Ms. Lopez, for your information, I'm just stating facts."

The bell rang and we both went out the library. "So what's your next class?" I asked Luke and he dug into his pocket to look at his schedule.

"Uh third period, Chemistry. God, I hate science." He groaned.

"Well, I'm the only student in third period Chemistry who doesn't have a lab partner, maybe that'll change your mind?" I chuckled and he shot his eyes at me.

"Really? We have the same class? Woo! I love Science."

We both laughed as we go to the Chemistry lab.

"Hey guys!" I greeted Michael and MIkhaela and they looked at me confused. "What?"

"You didn't tell us you made a new friend." Michael eyed me and glanced at Luke. Luke just chuckled.

"I thought we were friends, man? We have a band for fuck's sake." Luke sat down in front of Michael and Michael's and Mikhaela's eyes widened. "LUKE?" They both exclaimed at the same time making Luke and I laugh.

"Am I really not that recognizable?" Luke asked as he bit down a part of his sandwich. The couple both shake their heads and I said a quick 'I told you so' to Luke.

"So where's Mr. Popular?" He asked pertaining to Calum as he look around the cafeteria. "Wait for it." He looked at me confused and moments later, the whole cafeteria burst into screaming girls and Luke had to cover his ears. "He's here."

He looked at Calum walking down to the cafeteria going to the vending machine. Probably getting another orange juice. He really likes orange juice.

He got his juice and sat down at his usual spot. "Wow, we were popular back in middle school but not this much." Luke shook his head and Michael perked his head up. "That's why you looked so familiar! You're Cake!"

Luke just chuckled and looked back at Calum, "Is he always a loner at lunch?"

"Pretty much, sometimes he's with his teammates, but most of the time, alone. Everybody is kind of scared of him here." I explained to Luke and Mikhaela added, "Yeah, there was this one time, I think it was the week after the first game, these sophomores spray painted his car, he got so pissed, these sophomores were so scared, they cleaned his car in the parking lot, on the spot."

I looked at Mikhaela confused. I haven't heard about that news.

"Apparently, Mina and Eric were behind it, so he got Mina to clean his car, too and he gave Eric death drills during practice." Mikhaela continued and she sipped on her water.

"Dude, scary." Luke said and I turned to look at Calum. It had been weeks since that incident and why am I learning this just now?

"I'm going to go talk to him." Luke stood up from his seat and went to seat with Calum at his table. At first Calum was confused and when he looked up, he quickly recognized Luke and gave him a bro hug.

It was a beautiful sight. I don't think I've seen Calum this happy in school. He was always grumpy. I guess Luke does bring out the best in him. But Cake? Really?
