June's POV
"Oh. Uh hi." I stammered clearing all the scraps of food on my table and throwing them in the bin. "What are you doing here?" I asked, trying to turn myself back to watching television.
He made himself feel at home, placing his bag on top of the shelf and sitting on the couch next to me. "Mom told me to come here." Of course. He wouldn't go here by his own will.
"Have you eaten?" I hesitantly asked and he shrugged, "No."
"Oh, do you want to order, maybe pizza?" I bit my lip hurriedly in worries I said something not good because he frowned at me. "There's a storm outside, aren't you a little inconsiderate to the delivery people?" He replied sarcastically.
I muttered a quick 'sorry' and went back to the show I was watching. "Well, I have food from the hospital." I showed him the tray that was sent earlier hoping he would eat it.
Moments later, I felt his presence got closer. Just when I thought he was only going to pick up the tray from my table, I was wrong.
"Move." I immediately looked up at him, shocked by his sudden movement. He asked me to scoot a little so he could sit on my bed.
I scooted and felt blush starting to form on my cheeks. He settled beside me, our elbows almost touching by how close we were and I swear, I could've died then and there. I put my attention back to the television, not wanting to give him the satisfaction that this affects me.
He teared up the plastic on the tray and opened the lid of every cup. He devoured the food right away and I took that opportunity to finally look at him.
He looks tired, like really tired. I can now see the bruises on his face up close. Shit. He has a lot of bandages on his face. He looks awful, honestly speaking. And the way he devoured the food, I can tell he really was hungry.
I turned to look at his hands. They were both bandaged up. I don't even want to see what's under those bandages. "I'm pretty sure Uncle Frank taught you that staring is rude."
I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard him say that. I blushed out of embarrassment and returned my attention to the television, "Uh-thank you for that, in the uh cafeteria." I stuttered.
He cleared his throat and answered, "You owe me for getting me suspended." I muttered a quick 'sorry' quite lowly and he just got back to his food, "H-how uh, how's your leg?"
"Uh it's getting better, I'll still need crutches, though." I stammered, shocked at the fact that Calum would ask me this. He just nodded and hummed and finished his food.
He then cleared the tray and pushed the table out of my bed. Just when I thought he'll already stand up, I was wrong, again. He stayed in my bed and pulled out his phone. Probably avoiding the awkward silence we're having.
He scooted a little so he could lay on my bed, arms behind his head. He's probably really tired so I just let him. I'm actually getting tired myself so I laid on the bed, too, my back facing him.
He was still on his phone the last time I looked at him. I was lying in bed for so long I didn't even realize that I fell asleep.
--
"Calum?" I whispered. We're lying on the couch, his arms around me as we engulf the calming silence.
"Yes princess?" He hummed, glancing at me for a split second before returning his gaze to the ceiling.
After all these years pining for Calum, I guess it all paid off, seeming as Calum couldn't keep his hands off of me. Not in a dirty way.
"I really like this, you know? Can we just stay like this?" I looked up at him and he glanced back at me. He smiled and responded by leaning in, slowly. Then our lips touched. This is what I've always wanted, to be with Calum.
