Calum's POV

I just want to lay in bed all day but apparently mom has this barbecue thingy event today and I should make an appearance at least. Plus, Mali and Luke are going to be there, so at least it won't be boring.

But then, I completely forgot, that I've been complaining a lot about June to Mali, and she's been teasing me that I like her, which I most certainly do not. What if Mali tells June? She's always been bugging me to get a girlfriend so I have no doubt that she'll interfere.

I got up out of bed around noon since I've been helping dad with his business last night, I stayed up until two in the morning. The barbecue starts at around one pm so I think I should already prepare.

The moment I came out the front yard, it was jam-packed, well not really, just Luke's family, my family, and June with her friends. The little event already started and I just sat at the front porch while everybody's getting social.

I glanced around for Luke and saw him sitting in a little circle with June and her friends. I groaned, I almost forgot they were also friends. Now, I'm the friendless one.

It looks like Luke has been getting along with her friends especially the red head one and Ashton. But then again, Luke gets along with anybody. I've never met Ashton before but Luke had mentioned him a couple of times with a very detailed description: curly hair and dimples, so I'm guessing it was him.

I'm starting to get bored when I saw a car pull over in front of our house. Mali. I hastily stood up from my seat and ran towards her. I hugged her tight. Man, did I miss my sister. The last time I saw her was before June moved into our house and that was months ago.

"You came, I actually thought you were going to ditch me." I told my sister after we pulled away from the hug. "I was actually going to ditch you, but then I remember, it was mom who told me to come so." She chuckled and I playfully glared at her.

"Well, since you'd rather see mom than your precious brother, why don't you go to her?" She playfully slapped my shoulder and we both went to mom.

"Mali, darling. You made it. Oh! I want you to meet someone." Mom told Mali and then mom called June. No. Please no.

"June, honey, this is Mali, my daughter." Mom introduced her to Mali and Mali's eyes sparkled at me. I looked at her sternly as if warning her. "It's really nice to finally meet you." June responded about to shake Mali's hand but Mali hugged her instead.

"It's great to finally meet you too. Oh my God, you're prettier in person." My sister told June and she blushed like a fucking tomato. Well, okay, I may or may not have told Mali that she's not bad looking. "You know, Calum has been-" My eyes widened and I quickly interrupted her before she could say anything.

"Mali, Luke is here, with his parents, I'm sure they would love to see you." Just like me, Mali is like a daughter to Liz.

That caught Mali's attention. Thank God. "Really? Oh I'll say hi," She turned back to June, "It's really nice to meet you June, I'll be here for a few days, we should hangout." NO. DEFINITELY NOT.

She went to the Hemmings and we were left there standing. I looked at her observing her reaction, but it turned out that I was glaring at her. She was about to say something, but I left her there and returned to my seat in the front porch.

I know that she would ask about what Mali said and I haven't thought of a great explanation. Ugh. Why did I even tell Mali those things about June?

I was peacefully playing with my phone when I heard my sister call my name. I didn't even realize she was already sitting in Luke's little circle.

When I wasn't moving, Mali came closer to me, "Why are you being a loner in there? Go socialize with your friends!"
