June's POV
It's the last game of the season and I couldn't be more proud of Calum, my boyfriend. I could get used to calling him just that.
We're in our home court and I'm honestly excited for Calum, I mean, the team to bag another championship title.
The team ran out of their dugout and I saw Calum scan through the audience. His family (including my dad), friends (Luke, Michael, Mikhaela, Ashton), and I, all were sitting near the front row so it wouldn't be hard to spot us.
He locked his eyes at me and he gave me the biggest smile ever. My friends snickered at me, but not enough for my dad and his parents to see.
You see, our parents still have no idea that we were dating. I mean, Calum isn't living in his parents' house anymore so there wouldn't be chances that they would catch us.
I'm not really sure why, but Calum's so determined not to tell our parents, especially his dad. He doesn't give me a valid reason, well actually, he never really gave me a reason.
I know my dad wouldn't get mad at him because he knows how much I like him but I still think he would be disappointed that I didn't tell him.
The game started and so far so good, our team is up by one goal, which was of course, shot by the captain himself.
I never really understood soccer so I just scream whenever our team goals. At least there was Luke who explains everything to us whenever the referee calls. He's a great player of football (the American one) so it's the closest thing.
The game went on and on just like that. Calum's team shooting a goal and the other team not shooting a goal.
The game ended with our school winning by 3 on 0. Our parents told us to pick Calum up, which means, just me, because my friends are such assholes. Just kidding.
We walked to the dugout and I heard screaming and chanting from outside. Winning the championship isn't new to them. I'm pretty sure Eric has the victory party all planned out.
One by one, people start coming in their dugout to congratulate them and we waited outside until I got pushed by my friends.
I walked slowly cupping my ears from time to time with how loud their screaming is and the marching band adds to the noise.
I spotted Calum at the very corner, standing in front of his locker, shirtless. He took out a shirt from his locker and turned around.
He smiled the moment he saw me and walked closer. When he was in front of me, I smiled at him, "Congrats, Captain."
"You're here." He breathed out staring at me intently making me all conscious and shit. "Of course, why wouldn't I be here at my boyfriend's last game."
He smiled at that and started leaning in until his lips met mine. It was like it's just the two us in the room when in reality, the whole varsity team is here, the cheerleading squad, even the marching band.
I never realized it until I heard an 'aww' which made me pull away from him. I blushed hard and he looked at me confused.
He looked around us and he just chuckled and pulled me with him. "Captain, get a room!" I heard Will yell from the back and Calum just flipped him off.
Calum was about to pull me out of the dugout when Will caught up to him. "Hey cap! You still coming to the party right?" Will eyed me as if asking permission if Calum can go.
"Uh actually, I uh-" I interrupted Calum by speaking for him, "You're going right?" I asked directly to Calum and he gave me the are-you-sure-we-could-just-hangout look.
"See, your girlfriend already gave you permission, hah, I didn't know you're under her wing." Will teased Calum and he glared at him making him put his hands up in defense.
"Yeah, sure, I'll go." He nodded at Will and we went on our way.
"You're going with me, right?" Calum intertwined our fingers and I looked at him, "Why would I, it's your party, you should have fun with your teammates. We could hangout tomorrow at the gig."
"No, you're coming with me, you're the one who decided that I'll go so it's your punishment, you'll go with me." I frowned at him and he just laughed. "Don't worry, our friends can come, too."
I grinned at him and we went to meet our friends. "Where's the party, man?" Luke greeted us and I gave him an amused look. Calum chuckled a little and answered, "Eric's"
As much as my friends don't like Eric, it's a party, it doesn't matter who threw it, as long as the whole school is going to be there and this is a school celebration.
We walked back out of the school to meet our parents not without pulling away of our intertwined fingers. Calum explained the victory party to them and they just gave us warnings. Don't drink and drive, no drugs, or anything illegal, and we have to be back at a reasonable time.
We decided to take all of the three cars we brought to the school, Calum's, Luke's, and Michael's, in case one of the drivers would be so drunk, aka Luke and Michael. Well, of course, it's obvious who's riding with who. Can you imagine the bromance between Luke and Ashton?
We arrived at Eric's place and suddenly, I got nervous as hell. This is the first school party I've ever been to. Mikhaela and I never got invited to any parties before and Michael started not being invited to parties ever since he got with Mikhaela.
We all went out the cars and went inside the room with Calum holding my hand.
A lot of people greeted Calum, being the captain, and of course the one who got the team the championship. It was so crowded that I got pushed away from Calum. He was being mobbed and I just stood there looking around, not really in the mood to socialize.
I walked around looking for my friends but they were nowhere to be found. I decided to rest my feet and sat at one of the patio chairs.
There were only a few people in here and I needed to breathe. It smells a mixture of alcohol and weed in there.
I was snapped out of my thoughts when someone spoke behind me. "June?"
I turned around to look who it was and my eyes widened. It was Naomi.
"Naomi, uh hi? What are you doing here?" I rambled and she smiled at me, "I was invited." I looked at her confused and she answered my thoughts, "I was invited by Eric."
I looked at her, confused once again and she chuckled, answering my thoughts, again. "Eric's my cousin."
She smirked at me and my eyes widen a little bit bigger. "Oh, so you uh-"
"Yeah, I know you and Calum are dating." I glanced down and she put her left hand on my right shoulder. "Don't worry, I'm not mad or anything, it's not like we were dating to begin with."
I was about to protest as to why she would think that I think she's mad at me, "I'm actually a lot more glad, 'cause it's you who I'm competing with. I first thought it was this Malia girl Eric's been talking about but then it's you."
She chuckled bitterly and I looked at her confused, Malia? "Anyways, enjoy it while it lasts, because in the end, Calum's still going to be mine."
Who the hell is she to talk like that?
She gave me an amused smile and spoke, "Oh my God, you don't know?" Now, I'm getting more confused, first, who's Malia? And second, what is Naomi talking about?
She breathed out laughing a little as if she so was amused of what was happening. So this secret that Calum's hiding from me, Naomi knows it, too?
"Wow, this is so amusing, well, it's not my place to tell. I need to get going anyway, see you Saturday." She smirked at me and left me dumbfounded. I need to know everything.
What is Calum hiding from me?
