Calum's POV
Counting down the days 'til graduation is like counting down the days 'til my worst nightmare, the wedding.
I mean, I could always get a divorce after the investment but apparently that was one of the prohibitions in the contract. I couldn't divorce her nor annul the marriage, so one thing's not for that to happen is to not go through the marriage at all.
Wednesday, four days before graduation, seven days before the wedding.
Lunch time came around and I went to the cafeteria looking for my friends. I lost them at the crowd earlier which explains how I got lost.
I saw Michael's red hair peaking out and saw them not sitting at our usual table. He was sitting with Mikhaela and some brunette I don't even recognize.
Was she their friend?
I walked closer to them and heard the most angelic laugh I've learned to love.
Wait. June?
I walked faster to them and quickly turned the brunette around to see that it was perhaps, my girlfriend, rather, my ex-girlfriend.
I touched her hair to see if it was real, "What happened to your hair?!" I exclaimed a little loud making some students look at us.
She snatched her hair from my hand and explained, "It was fading so I had to change the color. Plus, I'm getting tired of being called a smurf."
"But I love your blue hair!" I whined like a kid because I really loved the blue hair and sat beside her inspecting her now dark brown hair much like mine.
But one thing caught me. With her hair like this, she looked a lot exactly like Malia. I've never seen it before because trust me if I did, I would've freaked out, big time. She told me before that she had been dyeing her hair different colors since high school started.
I've never seen Malia for six years so I wasn't really aware about how she looked today. Not even sure where she's at or if she's even alive. Last time I saw her, it wasn't good, then she just disappeared.
But June, she definitely reminded me of her, especially right now. I just didn't want to delve into it much, because Malia's in the past, and June's in the present, and I love her.
I was snapped out of my trance when I heard someone speaking, "Nice hair, babe." I looked up to see it was Eric who talked.
"Why, thank you, E." E? Did June just call him E? What the fuck? What's with the sudden nicknames. When did they become friends?! Last time I knew, we hate Eric.
Eric gave June a wink and went on his way. I put my right hand on the table and the other one behind the chair so I was looking at her.
She was still looking at Eric so when she looked back at the table, she got startled seeing me glaring at her.
"E?!" She just looked at me, "What's with the nicknames?! You two friends now?! BABE?!" She didn't seem fazed by my slight outburst as she continued eating her ice cream.
"What's it to you? We're friends, can't we be fri-"
"No! We hate him, okay? All of us, hate him!" I emphasized the words 'hate' and 'him' because we really do hate him.
She looked back to me with me still glaring at her and then she smirked. "Sounds like someone's jealous."
"Wha? Me? Jealous? Huh. As if." I scoffed and turned back around so I was looking at the table instead of her and sat properly.
