Calum's POV

Another suckish day, another day at school. Unlike what everybody thinks, I actually hate school, but it's kind of a requirement if I want to be successful in the future.

Once again, I passed another tarpaulin with my face on it because I was captain of the scholastic decathlon that won champion in a recent competition.

I didn't want to join but the school practically begged me too.

Everybody says I'm a genius, but I don't believe them, I just don't find studying hard. Although I believe that I've studied enough for the rest of high school which is why I don't bother much.

As I walk down the corridors of the school, I've always been greeted by almost all of the students, I'm actually getting tired of it. None of these people are my friends, not real anyways.

I get to my locker when Eric came into view, co-captain of the soccer team, and yes, I am captain.

"Hey man! You coming to the try-outs after class? You've got to be there, you're captain." He nudges me. "Nah, man, think I'm going to head home right after class. You're co-captain, you can handle it."

I get my things out of my locker heading straight to first class. Thank God, no more screaming girls.

--

It was lunch time and then again, screaming girls. It hurts my ears; I might get deaf before I even graduate high school. I wasn't really that hungry, so a bottle of orange juice is enough for me and I sat down my usual spot at the cafeteria.

"Calum!" I heard my name being called so I looked up to see who it was. I saw a girl walking towards me with a box in her hands.

Oh no, not again.

I internally groaned as I realize what's going to happen. "Uhm-Calum, I-uh made you some red velvet cupcakes, I made it all by myself." She hands me the box. I stared at the box and glanced at her. "I don't eat sweets."

She frowned and tears form in her eyes.

Here come the waterfalls.

You might think I'm a cold heartless jerk. I probably am but I don't really eat sweets, especially not red velvet. I'm not allergic or something, I just don't like them.

The cafeteria is then again filled with whispers, others on my side, others on the girl's side. I'm too tired of everything so I just shrugged everything off, like I always do.

--

"So how's first day of school, hun?" I was greeted by my mum when I entered our lovely home. I hugged her and responded a quick fine then went back upstairs.

Since it's the first day of school, we don't have homework yet so I decided to pass time. I looked at every game I have on my shelf deciding what I should play. I finally decided and pulled the game out of the shelf when something fell off from it.

It was a picture of me when I was a child and beside me was a very special person.

A smile crept on my face as I remember the times we spent together. She was my first love. Although it was puppy love, we were twelve, I know that she'll always have very special place in my heart.

I kept the picture in the drawer of my nightstand and sat down in front of my Xbox and once again play a round of Fifa.

--

I was walking down the corridors of hell, rather, school. I got to my locker to get my things for the next subject when a small envelope fell from the top of my locker.

What is this?

June Lopez?

I was about to open the envelope when the bell rang. I put it in between of my books, mentally noting myself to open it when I get home.
