No, no, no! My heart was pounding in my chest as I desperately tried to clean up the suds. We were going to get caught, I knew we were. And it was all Maya's fault. She switched our phones, she lied to get the babysitting job, and she got arrested! And now my reputation was going to be ruined.

I frantically continued wiping the floor, only creating a bigger separation between all the suds. "Riley, I found a mop!" Katy shouts, the said mop in hand. I smile at her and grab the mop, swishing it around frantically.

There was no way we were gonna make it, the Andersons were gonna be home any minute. They're gonna find their brand new car all ruined, the mess in the kitchen, the suds in the laundry room, and their precious dog all dirty! Not to mention their kids still up and not in bed. Then there was the problem of Emily Cooper's green hair and tattoo.

After another five minutes of mopping, Katy and I managed to get the laundry room looking like brand new again. I give her a high five, smiling at what we accomplished. We were actually gonna make it!

I step back out into the kitchen to find it shiny and new again. Maya was looking at one of the counters, studying the shine.

I think back to this morning when I first met her. We were both up for that amazing art internship. I spilled her smoothie, our phones were switched, and she told Lucas Friar I wasn't interested in him. I wiggle my nose in disgust as I think back to Lucas. He hadn't even let me explain that my phone was switched. That it was Maya who rejected him, not me. And now he was at that concert with Missy Bradford, who just became his girlfriend.

I had made a big deal of giving myself a makeover. I smile as I think about Maya's sincerely sorry look as she dragged me to the concert. She even gave up her camera, just so I could get a chance. She helped me with my makeover and boosted my confidence. Not that it matters anymore, Lucas wasn't interested. I flash back to when I was in tears at his rejection and Maya had held me in her arms, apologizing over and over again. She truly was a great friend, and a really beautiful one at that. What wait!? What am I saying!?

None of this was her fault, well most of it was. But if it wasn't for me, we would already be safe and sound, not still up trying to clean the mess. I broke the number one babysitting rule: You never put a boy before kids. Especially not Lucas. I wrinkle my nose again. I don't know how I liked him before, now the thought of him makes me want to puke.

"Check her out." Trey says, holding the dog in his arms. He had managed to scrub off all the dirt and grime. Not to mention Emily, who no longer had green hair or her tattoo. We were actually gonna get away with this! "Woah!" Bobby and AJ shout, petting their dog.

"Okay, everyone upstairs in bed. Riley, you better take Emily and Katy home." Maya orders. I obey and begin to run to the door but stop, seeing as none of the kids moved. "What?" I ask.

"Well, we just wanted to say." Trey begins while eyeing Emily. "We think you're awesome babysitters." Emily finishes for him. They smile at each other with loving eyes that make me grin. At least someone found love in this crazy adventure.

I grin at Maya and she returns it. This was all I ever wanted, for the kids to appreciate me and not just see me as their annoying babysitter. And all it took was one crazy adventure. Maya grabs my hand and squeezes it, sending butterflies in my stomach. What was happening to me!?

"Tonight was possibly the best day of my life. I think I speak for everyone when I say that." Emily says, looking around the room.

"Yeah." Bobby says.

"Totally." Katy agrees while AJ and Trey nod their heads.

"Ours too." I say and smile back at Maya. "Yeah." She says, making my heart pound in my chest. Oh no, I like Maya! I was already rejected once today, I can't handle another one.

"I got to meet my hero." AJ sighs, her eyes glazing over. I give a little laugh as I think back to the police station. I had just yelled at Emily and Maya was in jail. It was arguably our lowest time, where nothing seemed to go right. Then there was little AJ, eyes bright with adventure as she showed her moves off to Jailer Swift.

"I finally found my perfect ingredient!" Bobby says, glancing back at his seaweed cupcakes.

"I went to my first gala." Katy says dreamily. I think back to the gala, where I made Maya dress up to borrow the hundred dollars. She looked beautiful in that dress, with her-snap out of it! I blink and bring myself back to reality.

"I missed the concert, but tonight was the best." Trey says, looking at Emily again. She blushes and ducks her head. Aww, young love.

There were a couple minutes of silence, where we were just reminiscing our adventure. Then, Maya interrupts it. "Alright you freaks, go, go, go!" This time, only Maya and I moved. The kids were still standing there.

"What are you guys doing? You gotta get in bed before your parents get home or they will kill us!" Panic was rising in my chest. What were they doing?

The kids all crossed their arms and raised their eyebrows. "Ask her out!" They chorused. My breathing goes ragged and I clutch the countertop so I won't fall. What!? How did they find out!?

"W-what?" Maya stutters, unlike herself.

Trey scoffs. "Guys, we saw you at the concert after Lucas rejected Riley. The looks on your face when you guys were in each other's arms said it all." He says and rolls his eyes at our obliviousness.

"Yeah. We may be kids, but we aren't stupid." Emily adds, then smiles at Trey again.

"Oh no, this goes for you too Trey!" Bobby says. Trey stops. "What!?" He exclaims.

"Ask Emily out!" AJ, Bobby, and Katy shout at him. His face flushes red and he turns to Emily.

"Uh Emily... Would you... maybe I don't know..." He scratches his neck in nervousness. "like to... you know... go out with me?"

Emily smiles. "I would love to." Trey's face lights up at her answer and they hug.

I smile, they were too adorable. "Riley, Maya, one of you ask the other one out!" Katy says, satisfied with Trey and Emily.

The smile disappears from my face. Maya had to be disgusted by this, there was no way she liked me. We only met today!

"You guys are crazy!" Maya exclaims. Her words confirm my suspicions, and I feel my heart start to break. There goes my second rejection of the night. "Riley, tell them that they're crazy!" She stops, noticing the look of pure heartbreak on my face.

"Riley?" She says, this time softly, concern flooding her eyes. Deciding that I had enough rejection for the night, it was time for me to take control.

I take a deep breath. "Maya, you know how you told me that sometimes I just need to take a risk and go for it?"

"Y-yeah." Maya stutters again, watching me with wide eyes as I step closer to her. "Well now I am." I say and close the gap between us. And as we kissed, the kids all cheered. Looks like Trey and Emily weren't the only ones who found love.
