"Okay, so we need to get Lela and Tanner together, make them find out about Les's machine, and have them destroy it before it destroys them." Maya sums everything up.

The two of us were stuck in this 1960s movie, Wet Side Story. We were walking down the beach, towards the lighthouse, trying to figure out how to get back home. I sigh, knowing that if I go home, it meant having to go to that preppy school. I have to go there, that's where my mom has always dreamed of me going. Now, though, after this whole being trapped in a movie experience, I know what I wanted. And it had nothing to do with the prep school. I wanted to stay with the blonde beauty, even if it means going against my mom's wishes.

I glance back at my ex-girlfriend, who was kicking the sand, lost in thought. It was the reason we broke up, that stupid school.

"Going somewhere?" A cold voice says, snapping me out of my thoughts. Maya and I look up to see Les and Dr. Fusion.

Maya and I turn around and try to flee but Dr. Fusion quickly shoots his laser gun, destroying an umbrella behind us. Les chuckles. "You can't escape us."

"Um, I know karate!" Maya says, going into a karate stance. I raise an eyebrow at her. "Just go with it!" She says to me in a hushed, strained voice. Dr. Fusion responds by blasting Maya with the laser gun, sending her flying back ten feet into the sand.

"Maya!" I scream, panic filling through me as I run over to her crumpled figure. I gently sit her up, wrapping an arm around her.

"In the movie, that looked like it hurt way less." Maya groans, going slack in my arms. I sigh in relief, pulling her into a tight hug. I turn to glare at Dr. Fusion, who merely smirked at us. I shield Maya using my body, in case he was going to blast her again.

Les and Dr. Fusion look at us with an evil glint in their eyes. This can't be good.

Well, I was right. The two villains were up to no good. They had captured Maya and I, leaving us tied together in the lighthouse.

"It could be worse." Maya says dully, leaning on my shoulder. I know she's never gonna admit it, but that laser gun weakened her more than she's letting on. "At least my favorite movie wasn't Tarantulas on a Train."

I give a little chuckle. "Whooo."

Maya glances back at me. "And you lost it." She says.

"If we hadn't have come here, I'd be on the plane right now, heading to some private school to become someone that I really don't want to be." I say. "I've spent this entire movie telling Lela to follow her heart and do what she loves. And she did! She's way more courageous than I could ever be."

"That's not true." Maya shakes her head. "You're braver than anyone I know." She pauses for moment. "So you're glad we came."

I nod my head. "I couldn't be gladder. It's like I'm tied up but at the same time, I've never felt more free."

The corners of Maya's mouth flick up in a small smile at my words.

"You were right. What's the hurry to grow up when I could be stuck in 1962 with you." I say truthfully, flashing Maya a smile. Maya's eyes light up.

"When it's meant to be, the stars seem to glisten." I begin to sing.

"Meant to be all the clouds depart." Maya and I sing together, our voices harmonizing perfectly. "When it's meant to be"

"It's destiny calling." Maya sings beautifully, her eyes filled with passion.

"And if you listen you'll find your heart." We finish the song together, face to face, not even a millimeter apart. Maya intertwines our fingers and we're about to kiss when we get interrupted by Dr. Fusion.
