"We had a deal." Farkle says. "I gave you some time to tell everybody the truth about how you really feel. And you haven't done anything about it yet. Guess how much time you have left."

"This has something to do with New Year's, doesn't it?" I ask hesitantly. The two of us were outside Topanga's. Well, Farkle had to drag me outside to talk and I could feel everyone's eyes on me through the window back in the bakery.

"Tell them you like Maya, Riley. Just tell them the truth." Farkle says. "Don't start a new year with a lie."

"Farkle, Maya likes Lucas! You can't just blurt my feelings out, it'll ruin everything!" I exclaim, waving my hands in frustration.

"You don't know that. You don't know how she feels." Farkle states. "I don't think she knows how she feels. You know why?"

"Because she can only read seven pages in three hours?" I chuckle slightly, trying to lighten the mood.

"Because all these things we are feeling are new. We don't know what they are yet!" Farkle exclaims. "Harper says all of this comes at a cost. What's your cost? Your own happiness?"

"Farkle, you said you wouldn't tell anybody. How could you do this to me?" I ask. I flashback to when Farkle had first found out about my feelings. In fact, we were at the bakery, just like we were now.

"Riley? Hello? Riley, snap out of it!" Farkle shouts, making me shift my gaze back at him. "Sorry, what were you saying?" I ask.

"I was asking if you were okay. You've been acting weird lately, especially around Maya." Farkle comments.

I freeze, hoping that for once, Farkle wouldn't understand. Unfortunately, nothing could keep the genius from finding out.

"You're always blushing when she compliments you. You have a dopey smile every time you see her. You're always finding some excuse to touch her and your hugs and hand holding are lasting way longer than usual. It's like you're..." Farkle's eyes widen.

I quickly cover his mouth before he could blurt it out, aware of Lucas and Maya flirting with each other ten feet away from us. "Farkle, promise me that when I move my hand, you won't scream."

Farkle nods. I slowly remove my hand from his mouth. "Riley, you're in love with Maya?" He whispers.

I nod my head, not bothering to deny it anymore and just watch Maya's wide smile being directed at Lucas and not me.

"I'm doing this for you, Riley! I care about you so much that I want you to know that the truth is always the best thing." Farkle says.

"How is it the best thing if it turns the whole thing into a mess?" I ask.

"You don't think this is a mess already? Do you not see Maya trying too hard to try and like Lucas? She's acting like this because you pushed her to be with Lucas!" Lowering his voice, he says "I want you to tell them. I knew you'd have me do the same thing. You ever heard of the horn of Gabriel?"

I scrunch my eyebrows in confusion, not sure where this was going. "No."

"He's an angel. They say that when he blows his horn, it's the end of time." Farkle responds. "If you don't tell everybody how you really feel, his horn blows at midnight."

It was silent for a couple seconds, with me just taking in everything he just said. "HA!" Farkle yells, breaking the silent atmosphere with his goose-like call. "Just because I don't do much doesn't mean I can't." He goes back inside the bakery, leaving me alone.

After a couple more seconds of standing alone, I walk back in to see Charlie Gardner lounging at the island, as well as Maya and Lucas awkwardly sitting next to each other.
