Lilianna followed her mother to the family room where they each sat on seperate couches. Her mother struggled to form words for a few seconds, trying to decide what to say.
"Was I a mistake? Or a dirty secret?" Lilianna suddenly whispered.
Lilith frowned, "No, you were one of the best things to ever happen to me. You and your brother are the few people who I live for. I left you with your father in hopes of returning, to escape Darien's father and bring your brother with me. However, he threatened to kill Darien if I didn't leave. I...I eventually returned to my coven. My parents taught me how to make my magic stronger so I could do things like heal others and watch over my children. I couldn't watch over you because I didn't know your name. I had limited time, to hide you from my bastard of a mate, I cast a spell over you as a baby. It locked your magic and changed your scent so others would believe you were full wolf." She explained.
Lilianna bit her lip, "So...you don't think of me as something formed from an affair?"
"Honey, no, you were formed out of true love. I loved your father and still do, if I had to do this all over again, I would. I had hopes of seeing you again, to see how my daughter grew up." She frowned. "If I knew what that Susan woman would have done..."
"Do you love Darien more?"
"No, I love you both the same. You need to believe me when I say that. Just ask your brother, I would ask him how you were doing. He gave me updates, but then you disappeared." Her voice cracked. "I'm so sorry."
Lilianna smiled, "I'm sorry for running."
Her mother chuckled, "I can understand why you did. Can I....can I hug you?"
Lilianna nodded, her mother sobbed as she pulled her daughter into a hug
"I love you so much." Her mother whispered.
Lilianna hugged her mother back, her own tears rolled down her cheeks. "Even though I don't know you, I did miss you. I had a foggy memory, but...I some how remembered you."
Her mother smiled, "I promise, I'll never leave you again."
"Thank you." Lilianna murmured.
"Darien, you need to take it easy. You're body isn't used to the sudden walking." Avery scolded.
He sighed, "I just want to go home."
"I know, but you need to sit in the wheel chair. Your mother is coming to pick you up." She replied.
"Do you know how things went between her and my little sister?" He asked softly.
Avery shrugged, "I guess we'll find out. She was upset though."
"I figured, I just hope they get along. My mom had missed her so much. Along with Aaron."
"So...if your mother is reunited with Lilianna's father...would you accept him as your step-father?"
Darien pursed his lips, "No. I would accept him as my father, Kaden was never a father to me."
When they reached the outside, Lilith was already waiting for them. She grinned and opened the back door.
"Your sister called dibs on the passenger seat." She smirked.
Darien chuckled, "And so, the sibling rivalry begins."
"Oh, shut up, dirt bag!" Lilianna called.
"No, booger face!"
"You did not just call me a booger face."
"Yes, I just did."
She flashed him a playful glare before laughing, "I can't believe you said booger face."
"Mom threatened to set my hair on fire the last time I cursed." Darien mumbled.
"Damn straight." Lilith sounded.
