Seth stayed in his office for the day, trying to figure everything out. He knew he messed up, but he wasn't expecting Lilianna to forgive him. He didn't deserve it, he did something far worse than what happened to his parents. He sat quietly in his chair, just staring at the papers scattered on his desk.
"At this point, you should have died instead of your parents."
The doctor's words echoed in his head like a broken record. He had gone back a second time, to make sure the doctor still had her medical papers. Even though those words cut through him like a knife, it was still worth it. He had stopped the doctor from giving her the medicine she was allergic to.
"Hey."
He looked up to see Ryan poking her head in, she smiled softly. "The pack is going to have dinner soon. You should start heading do-
"I'm not hungry." He mumbled.
She frowned, "Seth, you need to eat."
"I'm too busy, Ryan."
"Seth..."
"I'll eat later, okay? The pack doesn't even want me down there."
"How do you know?"
"I just do, please, leave me alone." He sighed in defeat.
She shook her head, "Fine. Starve yourself. See if we care."
Once the door was slammed shut he buried his face in his hands. He took shaky breaths, forcing himself not to cry. It took him fifteen minutes until he had control over his emotions again. He deserved this though, he kept telling himself this. As he thought over everything, the need to cry hit him full force. He tried forcing it away, but the silent tears rolled down his face anyway.
Lilianna woke up to see a nurse checking her medicine and vitals. When the nurse noticed she was awake, she immediately smiled.
"Hey, how are you feeling?" She asked gently.
Lilianna swallowed, "I've been better."
The nurse nodded, "You should be released some time today. The Alpha's cousin already has a room for you in the packhouse."
"Thank you."
The nurse smiled before leaving, Lilianna sighed as she leaned against the pillows. Her mind wondered through the memories that she had as she tried remembering her past. It was bothering her that she had apparently murdered Seth's parents. She couldn't see herself doing that, expecially to a close friend. Her head ached as she tried remembering, causing her to stop.
She looked over when the door opened, revealing the girl she saw before. The blue eyed girl smiled softly at her before closing the door.
"So, I have good news for you." The girl grinned.
Lilianna frowned, "What?"
"After this week, you will be coming back to my pack with me. You'll be safer there. Seth can't take his anger out on you and the hunters won't know where you are."
"Why?"
The girl furrowed her eyebrows, "Why what?"
"Why are you doing this for me? I killed his parents, didn't I?" She questioned.
The girl sighed, "No. You didn't. Seth is just being a crazy asshole. You're innocent, I don't want this happening again."
"So...after his parents died...what happened?" Lilianna nervously asked.
The girl frowned, "Seth...went into a very dark place."
"Did he hurt anyone?"
"Yes, one person."
"Who?"
"Himself."
