One week later
"Seth, let's face it, I'm never going to be able to beat you." Lilianna groaned from being pinned down.
He chuckled, "Well, you are getting stronger, if that helps."
"You're annoying." she grumbled, flashing him a glare.
He smirked before kissing her on the lips, "I prefer sexy."
She smiled against his lips before laughing, "Get off of me, you big turtle."
He got off before grabbing her hand and pulling her to her feet, "That's enough for today." he grinned.
They grabbed their water bottles and got a drink before sighing, Seth watched as multiple warriors trained hard. Many of them easily beat their partner in less than a minute, pinning them down as if it were nothing. To them, it probably was nothing. Seth pursed his lips, he wanted to fight a few of his uncle's warriors, but they were all afraid of him. He had only fought the one warrior and had him pinned down in thirty seconds.
"So, how is Darien and Avery doing?" Lilianna asked, gaining his attention.
He sighed, "He didn't wake up yet, but Avery is finally warming up to Ryan and my aunt."
"That's good, she's worried sick, huh?"
"Yeah, he coded the other day."
Lilianna's heart dropped, "He's not out of the woods?"
"Nope. The doctor thought after forty-eight hours they would know whether or not he'll make it, but...his heart sort of gave out. They got him back, however, his wolf isn't healing him."
                              "Not even his leg?"
                              "Nope."
She frowned, "That's odd...did that bullet release silver into his body?"
"That's what they're thinking." he replied. "They found silver in his blood, so, they're going to try to clean it out of his system."
She frowned as they left the gym, she knew Darien had done horrible things, but it sounded as if he didn't have any other choice. Of course, he could have ignored his father and allowed his mate to be killed, but no wolf would ever do that. Unless that wolf was his father. She was disgusted by the man, she couldn't bring herself to understand how someone could harm their child like that. Sorrow washed over her as she thought about her father, she had no idea if he was alive or not and yet, here she is, enjoying life.
                              "Seth?" she whispered.
He looked at her, "What's wrong?"
"Do you think the hunters killed my father?" she whimpered.
He frowned, he gently cupped her cheek and kissed her on the forehead. "I don't know, I do know they usually keep werewolves alive for over a year. Whether they're an experiment or not. We had a few warriors escape them a few months before you returned."
She frowned, "Do you think my dad escaped?"
                              "I'm not sure, baby girl."
She sighed as she rested her head on his chest, "I just left him there..."
"Hey, don't beat yourself up about this. How about this, I'll find a way to get him out of there if he's still there."
"What if that puts the pack in danger?"
                              "It won't." he assured her.

Avery stepped into Darien's hospital room, hoping he was awake. When she saw he was still asleep, she released a breath and sat down. She calmly traced the scars on his neck and collarbone, allowing her silent tears to roll down her cheeks. She looked up at him, wanting to see those beautiful brown eyes she loved. She rested her head on the bed and closed her eyes.
"Please, just wake up, baby." she whimpered.
For the next few hours she hung around him, running her fingers through his hair or reading a book. Every now and then she would look at him, to see if he was awake, but he never was. Once six pm rolled around, she decided to go home for the night. She grabbed her bag and got up to leave, halfway to the door, she heard him code again.
