TW: rape
(this chapter is verrry intense)I had received no calls or messages from my father. After promising he'd be home by Tuesday, I thought he'd be home. It was Friday. And no message or call or Skype to tell me he had extended his business stay.
I felt abandoned for the second time this week, and the feeling was anything but nice. I wanted to spend my days in bed, but I knew that having another day off school would get me in a lot of trouble. So I sucked it up and went to school today. It want that bad, considering Chet kept me company the whole day with his quirky self. He was still so excited about tonight, and the fact I was ever going.
I warmed up to the idea of going to a party today- I might've been borderline excited at some point, but I'd never admit that. I'd already chose a dress to wear, since I was terrible at making decisions. I wasn't going to back out of this decision, though. I looked pretty okay for someone who'd never been to a proper party in her life. I mean, I didn't know what people typically wore to parties, but I assumed I looked somewhat okay.
I was awkward entering the party since I didn't know much people there. But as I found Chet, the night seemed better. We talked for a while, he was pretty excited to see me here.
"I thought you wouldn't show up, to be honest!" He smiled, talking over the loud music.
"Well I couldn't just bail." I talked back, feeling myself smile. He let out a chuckle.
"And you look really good, too." He said, moving closer to me. "Calum's a lucky guy."
I felt a blush spread on my cheeks as he said the words- I hadn't thought of Calum's much today, I had too much on my mind. Don't get me wrong, I missed him so incredibly much, but today I hadn't been dwelling on the fact he wasn't here. And it felt foreign to me.
"Thank you." I said, watching as he smiled.
"No worries- do you want a drink?"
I nodded, watching as he cheekily smiled.
"Okay. You stay here, I'll be right back." He said, giving my arm a soft squeeze. I nodded, giving him a smile before I watched him turn around, moving through the crowd, over to where the alcohol was. I felt nerves suddenly prick away inside me as he walked away to retrieve the alcohol. I'm dead if dad finds out- if Calum finds out. But they won't. Neither of them won't, I was just terribly paranoid.
I looked around, awkwardly waiting for him to return. Everyone was standing around, obnoxiously laughing to each other as they all talked over the loud music. A few people were hooking up in the back corner, and as people gradually grew drunker, they'd walk up the stairs intoxicated, and find a bedroom. I watched one guy walk up and down those stairs at least three times with a different girl each time. I felt bad for the girls, seeing as they all were in the same group at school, unbeknown to him.
The lights were low, a blue hue around the house from the neon lights strung in the corner, so it made faces pretty hard to identify at first. But I guess, that was what was fun about it all- the excitement of not knowing who was who.
I turned around as Chet arrived with a cup in his hand, extended out for me to take. I took it from his hand, smiling.
"Thank you." I said.
"It's my special mix," he said, gesturing to mine. "You'll like it."
I smiled, nodding before I brought the cup up to my lips. I took a sip, immediately tasting the strong alcoholic taste. Chet laughed as I pulled away, my face turning sour.
