Abby’s Point of View
I woke up to my alarm and quickly got dressed, Oli would be here soon. I put on my pink sweater that has a dripping black heart on it and my black skinny jeans. I slid on my black converse and a black beanie; I quickly did a thin line of eyeliner and some mascara. Lastly I put on my ‘Love’ ring and a black bow necklace. I grabbed my purse and slung it over my shoulder before heading to the next room to get Scarlett ready to go. Once she was in her carrier and had her coat on I walked out to Oli’s car which had just pulled up. I got Scarlett settled in the backseat before I went in the front. The car ride was silent and awkward, each of us had something to say but neither one of us wanted to say what was on our minds. We pulled up at a small café and Oli got out to go pick up our order. When he shut the door I let out a sigh of relief, I had no idea how I was going to say goodbye, last time we said goodbye I was stupid enough to almost lose him forever. Before I knew it he was back in the car with two hot chocolates and two muffins, I smiled in thanks and then sipped my drink quietly. After a few more awkward minutes which seemed to last an eternity, we pulled out of the parking lot and began our seemingly slow drive to the airport. Their manager had gotten them an earlier flight so they had to be there by ten instead of noon.
Once we got to their gate the rest of the band and their crew was already there, but it’s not like he was late, they don’t leave for another half hour. Matty held Scarlett to say goodbye to her and Oli pulled me over to the seats and sat me down next to him. He took a small box out of his pocket and took my hand in his free hand. “Abby, I love you so much and I don’t want to lose you like I did before. And obviously our current situation isn’t working out too well…that’s why when I get back from tour I want you to move in with me, well I want to buy I house with you.” He said and my jaw almost dropped but it does make sense with Scarlett and all. “Of course I’ll move in with you you big dork.” I said playfully, he nearly scared the crap out of me the way he had worded that. “But there is something else,” he began and looked down to the little box in his hand, “It’s not anything special but it’s a promise.” He said and then he let go of my hand and opened the box to reveal two silver rings. “A promise of what, Oli?” I asked whilst looking at the rings. “A promise to each other, we are obviously not ready for marriage yet but this is a promise I’m giving to you that one day it could happen, but only if you give me that same promise.” He said and slipped the smaller of the two rings onto my ring finger on my right hand. I looked at him and then the other ring, I pick it up and slid it onto his ring finger on his right hand, “I promise.” I whispered.
We sat there in each other’s arms for the next half hour while the other guys talked and played with Scarlett. “Flight 234 to America is now boarding” the announcer rang through the speakers. Oli stood up and looked down at me, I turned to say goodbye to Scarlett but I didn’t hear what he said. I stood up and he wrapped me in his embrace, “It’s only for three months then we’ll be back and we can pick up right here.” He said and kissed me lightly but I deepened the kiss and he tangled his fingers in my hair before pulling away. “Don’t Go.” I choked out and let a tear roll down my cheek. “Tell me that you love me ‘cause I need you so much.” He whispered in my ear leaving me confused. “I love you, goodbye for now Oli.” I said and kissed him again. “Goodbye Love, see you soon.” he said and kissed me once more and wiped my tears before turning away and heading for the gate and catching up with the rest of the guys. Matty handed Scarlett back to me and said goodbye again, we said our goodbyes last night. Before going through the gate Oli turned around and smiled at me and mouthed the words ‘I Love You’ god I love him.
On the way home, at a red light I was admiring my new ring, it was silver and said ‘I love you’ and Oli’s said ‘I know’ he’s too adorable. I parked Oli’s car in my driveway when I got home and I got Scarlett out of the backseat. When I walked into the front door I sighed and set Scarlett down in her play pen and turned the television on for her, “It’s just you and me for a while babe.” I said and flipped on the kitchen lights and walked in. there was a note on the kitchen table, I picked it up and walked back into the living room to sit on the couch and read it.
Hello Love, I miss you dearly already. By now I’m already on the plane away from the two people who mean the most to me and it’s killing me on the inside. I love and miss you, don’t forget to call, text, and Skype. Tell Scarlett that daddy loves and misses her; oh and we will have a few performances broadcast on television so you guys could watch them if you’d like to. And don’t forget, Abby, I love you. I will see you soon; I love you girls with all my heart. Bye, ~Oli
“I know.” I whispered and began to sob quietly. It’s going to be a long three months.
