*Three Weeks Later*

Abby’s Point of View

I got home and called out “Oli, I’m home.” But there was no answer, I walked into the living room and saw Mrs. Sykes there with Scarlett. “Where’s Oliver?” I asked and she looked up form what she was doing. “He didn’t tell you?” she asked and I shook my head no, “Well, Oli was called into Drop Dead for a meeting this morning in London and he doesn’t know how long he would be so he asked me over to watch Scarlett until you got home.” She said and I nodded and put my coat away in the front closet. “Alight, thank you Mrs. Sykes for coming over to watch her. You can go now or you’re welcome to stay for dinner.” I offered and she shook her head. “No dear that’s fine but thank you, I have cleaning at my house to do. And for the last time, either call me mom or Carlo, please.” She asked and I nodded and smiled, she thought it was wonderful that Oli and I were engaged finally. She got up from her spot and grabbed her coat and her keys; she kissed me on the cheek and said goodbye before leaving. “Looks like it’s just you and me again babe.” I said while picking Scarlett up and making my way upstairs. I set her on my bed while I went to change out of my work clothes. I walked into my washroom and shut my door; I shed my incredibly itchy sweater and replaced it with an off shoulder grey sweater that said ‘Meow’ on the front of it, it was so soft. I kicked off my jeans and put on leggings and touched up my makeup. I brushed my hair out and put on a black knit beanie. I walked out of my washroom and threw my dirty clothes in my hamper and grabbed my ‘Love’ ring off of my dresser, but of course I was also wearing my  engagement ring. I slipped on my black Ugg boots and walked over to my baby girl. “How’s about we go out for dinner?” I offered to her and her face lit up and she stood up and walked to the end of my bed where I was sitting.

We walked into a restaurant that was nowhere fancy but they had amazing food, I guess it was the equivalent to an American Apple Bees, I remember from when I was on Warped Tour. We were seated immediately and Scarlett could actually reach the table because she had a booster seat they had offered her. “What do you want to eat little chicka?” I asked and she shrugged and I read the kids menu out loud to her. She wasn’t much of a talker, especially around me. She seemed to talk to Oli more than anyone else, and that is for two reasons; one she’s a daddy’s girl and two he was around her the most when she was a baby because I was always at stupid work. The waitress came back and I ordered chocolate milk for Scarlett and water for myself. We were sitting near the door in a booth because the place was packed. “What’d you and grandma do today?” I asked her and she shrugged. “Games.” She mumbled and I just nodded. Was I really that bad of a mother that she won’t even talk to me, like ever?  The door dinged again, meaning someone else had walked in; I snickered to myself knowing that there were no tables left. “Pickup for Oliver.” The man’s thick accent said and I turned to see him. “Oli?” I asked and he turned and looked at me. “Abby, what are you guys doing here?” he asked and the man behind the counter handed him a bag. “Scarlett and I went out for dinner because your mum said you were in a meeting in London and she didn’t know when you’d be back…” I said and he walked over to us. “Yeah I was, well I am…the meeting is a two day meeting but I had to run home and grab a change of clothes and on my way back I figured I’d stop and grab something to eat on the way back to London.” He said and I nodded. “So the two gals have our huge house to ourselves tonight?” I asked and he nodded with a sad look on his face. “You know I have these overnight business meetings but we’re getting ready to launch our 2011 Spring line.” He said and I just nodded, “Love, I’m so sorry, but I will be back by tomorrow night and then we can…spend some time together, just the two of us.” He said with a smirk and I felt myself blush. “See you then, I love you, please drive carefully.” I said and he bent down and kissed me softly. “Bye Princess, daddy will see you tomorrow; keep an eye on mommy.” He said with a wink and gave Scarlett a hug. “Bye Love.” He said before he grabbed his bag and headed for the door.
