Abby’s Point of View

I paced back and forth waiting for them to get home, their flight was delayed by an hour but they should be home by now. I heard a car door and I ran to the window, all I saw was Matty getting out of the car. He walked into the house and I looked at him, “Where’s Oli?” I asked as he set his bags down. “His place, obviously, why would he come here to put his stuff away?” he said and I sighed, I forgot that he doesn’t live here. “I’m going to head over there in a few minutes.” I said and he shook his head. “Not the best idea you’ve ever had, he seems pretty pissed at you. Every time someone would say your name he was get and quiet or leave the room, and after you left he barley talked to us. I don’t know what you did but it seems pretty bad.” He said and I groaned. “He proposed to me and I said no…” I said and he looked at me in shock. “Well why the hell did you do that?” he asked and I shrugged. “I don’t have to explain myself to you.” I said and he rolled his eyes. “Don’t come crying to me when he tells you to go away.” He said and I just rolled my eyes at him and went upstairs to get Scarlett. I quickly looked in the mirror and I looked presentable. I was wearing a beige sweater with black leggings and a heart necklace with a heart ring. I had on fancier makeup than what I usually wear though. I slipped on a coat and my moccasins before I got Scarlett ready.

I took a deep breath and knocked on his door, I heard shuffling around inside before he opened his door. His face fell when he saw me but he quickly hid it and made his expression impossible to read. “What do you need?” he asked and leaned against his door frame. “Can we please talk, and before you slam the door in my face I promise it’ll only take a few minutes.” I said and he thought about it and sighed, he stepped aside so I could come in and shut the door behind me. I walked over and set Scarlett in the living room because some of her toys were in there. I walked back into the kitchen where Oli was sitting at the table so I joined him. “What did you want to talk about?” he asked while avoiding looking at me. “Well for starters I’m really sorry Oli. I never meant to hurt you.” I said. “Again.” He said quietly and I looked over at him. “What?” I asked and he looked over at me but didn’t look my in the eye. “You hurt me again…is what you did.” He said and I suddenly felt like the worst person in the world, all I’m good for is hurting Oli. “Well if all I seem to do is hurt you then maybe it’s a good thing I have cancer.” I simply said and he looked up and his eyes met mine. “Are you serious?” he asked and I just nodded, “When did this happen?” he asked and I shrugged. “I got tested after you left for tour because I didn’t feel good at all I kept getting sharp pains… and it turns out I have kidney cancer. It’s only in the right one though so they said they could just remove the entire kidney…but that’s so expensive I realized it was either that or a wedding and I didn’t want to lose you but I guess by turning you down I did anyways.” I said and I guess at some point I had started crying because Oli moved his chair next to mine and his arm was around my shoulder. “You never lost me.” he whispered into my ear, “And I’m going to lose you either.” He whispered in my ear again. I shivered when his breath tickled my skin; I turned to him and searched in his eyes for any sign of emotion. “I’m so sorry, Oli.” I said and he kissed my lips lightly. “Don’t be, I love you, Abby.” He said and kissed me again, “We will fix this.” He pulled me into a hug. “Fix what?” I asked when he pulled away. “All of it.” he said quietly before kissing me again.
