Abby’s Point of View
4 Months Later
“Can I come in?” I heard a voice at my door, followed by a soft knock. “Give me a second!” I yelled back and stashed the Christmas presents I was wrapping under my bed, “Come in!” I shouted and he walked in. “What were you doing?” he asked with a smirk. “Wrapping gifts, what do you want I have to finish.” I said and he acted offended. “Mom and Dad are coming over for Christmas; we are having it here this year.” Matty said and I sighed. I hadn’t talked to my parents since I moved in with Matty when I was eighteen. “Matty, it’s been three years…” I said and he just laughed. “Great, then there will never be a silent moment during dinner. He chuckled and walked out of my room. yes, that’s right; I live with Matty again. Even I’m not sure what happened, the one day I came back to get some things and he was home and we started talking and now everything is all cool between everyone. The guys put out their new album and it’s just amazing. Oh...and what was that other thing? Oh yeah, I’m pregnant. No worries, I’m only like two weeks, and I don’t even know if I really am. It could just be a false positive on the cheap drug store test. I’m going to the doctors in an hour and- oh shit I have to leave soon!

Abby said she had something important to tell me but I have no idea what it is, she should be here any minute. I visited Maxy’s gave today, same with every weekend but today was different because I wasn’t alone at the cemetery. There was some guy that was about my age and really muscular there too, he didn’t look like he was mourning though. He was more or less watching what I was doing; maybe it’s just all in my head. I was snapped out of my thoughts when there was a knock at my door. “It’s open.” I shouted and Abby walked in with two cups of coffee, from her shop. “Hey Babe.” She said and kissed my cheek. She handed me my cup and I leaned against my kitchen counter. “What did you need to tell me?” I asked and she began to shift her weight from left to right and back again. “Oli, I’m pregnant.” She said and all the air left my lungs, I couldn’t breathe in and she looked at me with concern, “Oli, are you okay?” she said and set her coffee cup down on the counter. She grabbed my hand and pulled me out onto the balcony. I sucked in the fresh air and then my eyes flicked over to her and my expression softened. I pulled her into a tight embrace. “I love you.” She mumbled into my chest and I smiled, I was going to be a dad, “Oli, do you want it?” she asked and looked up at me. “Of course I do, as long as I’m with you, I don’t care what happens.” I said and bent down to kiss her.
“Who else knows?” I asked when we broke apart. “The doctor, I wanted you to be the first one to know.” She laughed and pecked my lips again and walked back inside. “I wish you could’ve meet Maxy, he would’ve loved you.” I said and she laughed. “I wish I could’ve met him too, he sounds great.” She said and I sighed a laugh. “He was the best…” I said and the room went silent again until her phone went off. “Hello…No, who is this? Oh, hey, no I’m at Oli’s. I’ll tell when I get home. Can Oli come for dinner? Okay, see you then. Bye.” She said into her phone in response to each question she was asked from the other end. “Matty?” I asked and she nodded.

We got back to my place a few hours after I told Oli the news; we got so caught up in some random movie that was on TV. We walked into my house and there was a strong small of pizza and bread sticks. “We’re home!”I yelled to Matty who was in the kitchen pouring drinks. “Orange pop for me please.” I said and grabbed a slice of pizza out of the box and then threw a few bread sticks onto my plate. “Same for me mate, thanks.” Oli said and joined me in the living room. “Matty I have something to tell you.” I said when I finished my second slice of pizza, he glanced over to me, and “I’m pregnant.” I said and I had expected him to run through a wall but he remained remotely calm. “You’re what?” he asked slowly. “Pregnant.” I clarified and he just nodded. “Well if you think you’re responsible enough to take care of a baby, then congratulations.” He said and I smiled. “Thank you Matty.” I said, jumping up and giving him a hug. They seemed pleased about the baby, so that’s one less thing I have to keep a secret from them.
