Abby’s Point of View
Since Oli proposed to me we haven’t really talked about the wedding much… I’m not rushing it but it’d be nice to at least have a ballpark park for the date but Oli has been so busy lately we haven’t had time to talk about it. The Drop Dead 2012 Spring collection launch is tonight and Oli is forcing me to go, not that I mind it but I’d rather be home with Scarlett than out with a bunch of strangers in London. I looked at the clock and realized I only had an hour to get ready, dang, where did the day go? I curled my hair then put a white bow in it and did my makeup; I put on fancy looking eyeliner and some mascara along with red lipstick. I put on the red dress I had picked out earlier and my white heels with silver on the front. I put on a few silver bracelets and a ring with a heart on it, and I already was wearing my engagement ring. I grabbed my black purse and ran downstairs. “You look lovely darling.” Mrs. Sykes said and I smiled at her while I said bye to Scarlett. The door opened and Oli walked in, he looked rather dashing; he had on black skinny jeans and a plaid flannel shirt, oh and of course his black converse. “Have fun you two, and be safe!” Oli’s mom exclaimed as we walked out the door. “Well, don’t you look great tonight?” Oli said and kissed my cheek before opening the car door for me. “Same can be said for you, Sykes.” I said with a wink before he shut my door.
It’s a damn good thing Oli picked me up early because I never realized how far away London was, it felt like we’d never get here. We pulled up to the Drop Dead store and Oli turned off the car and came around to my door to open it for me. “Shall we?” Oli asked and held his hand out for me to take; I took it and he intertwined his fingers with mine as we walked inside. The place wasn’t completely packed but I’ve never seen this many people in here at once. Oli led me over to a table set up where they were serving drinks and he handed me one and I smiled my thanks. I’m not into big crowds and talking to a lot of people I don’t know but I was here for Oli, all I had to really do was smile and nod. Oli drags me around for a while, introducing me to people whose names I will never remember and I will probably never see them again. We finally make our way over to a table and sit down, I sighed when Oli had to get up to go check on something. Someone sat next to me and I suddenly got uncomfortable. I looked over and saw Oli’s brother, Tom, sitting next to me. “Hey Tom, how are you?” I asked him as I turned in my chair to look at him. “I’m okay, just drained form this event and it’s not even half way done yet. How about yourself?” he asked in response. “I’m good, but I’d much rather be at home with my baby girl.” I sighed and he chuckled slightly. “What is this?” Tom asked as he grabbed my hand and brought it closer to him so he could see it. “Just a ring.” I said and I felt myself blush. “You guys got engaged? I didn’t hear about that!” tom exclaimed and I looked confused. “Oli didn’t tell you about it?” I asked and he shook his head no. “He probably meant to and something about the release came up, I bet he would’ve eventually told me.” he reassured me, “But CONGRADULATIONS!” he yelled and I laughed as he pulled me into a hug; “When’s the wedding?” he asked and my face dropped. “How should I know, we haven’t talked about it at all.” I sighed again and he frowned slightly. “No worries, just talk about it like tomorrow or something, he’ll be a lot less stressed after tonight.” He said and I smiled slightly, he’s right.
After a little longer of talking to Tom, Oli appeared on a small platform and tapped on the microphone that was there. “Hello everyone, thank you all for coming out tonight, I know many of you were busy but came out for this and I appreciate it. Thank you to everyone who helped make tonight possible and those who helped with the clothes design and everything, oh and everyone who had to put up with my crazy ass these past few weeks.” He began and everyone chuckled. “I’ve been really stressed these past few weeks and have been away from my family a lot lately and I feel horrible for that. Oh, and speaking of my family, a few months back I proposed to my girlfriend, Abby, and she said yes.” He said with a smiled and his statement was awarded with a round of “awe’s”. “I love you Abby, thanks for coming tonight babe, it means a lot. Thank you all for coming and I will see you all again real soon.” he said and stepped off of the platform and everyone began to clap. He walked over and sat with me and Tom. He kissed me on the lips softly and I felt myself blush. “No PDA please.” Tom said, throwing his hands up in the air. “You’re just jealous.” Oli said jokingly and pulled me into his chest, “She’s mine tiny bitch.” Oli said and Tom and they both started to laugh.
After three more agonizing hours the last few people left and Oli locked up. “Hotel or home?” he asked and I shrugged. “Hotel is closer, but I wanted to spend tomorrow with Scarlett…so maybe home? I’ll drive if you’d like.” I offered but he just shook his head. “Try to sleep on the way home; I’ll drive since I made you come tonight.” He said and opened my door for me then made his way around to the driver’s side. “No it’s okay, I had fun.” I lied, but a small lie never hurt anyone. “Alright, but you still have to get some sleep Love, goodnight.” He said and kissed my cheek before pulling away from the curb and heading home.
