Abby’s Point of View

“Oli, breakfast!” I yelled from the kitchen while I put Scarlett into her chair at the table. I set a bowl of ‘cereal’ down in front of her and she began to feed herself, damn she’s growing up so fast. I heard Oli coming down the stairs as I poured some juice into two glasses for us. He came up and kissed my cheek, “Morning babe, what’s the occasion?” he said as he sat at the table next to Scarlett. “Nothing, just thought it’d be nice to have a homemade breakfast.” I said and placed the plate of pancakes on the table. We finished eating and I poured us each a cup of tea while Oli took Scarlett into the living room to play. I walked in and handed his cup to him and he shook his head at me. “Well, either this is really good or really bad; you’re being a kiss-ass this morning.” He said with a smirk present on his face. “Well Oli, we need to talk.” I said, looking down at my hands and playing with my engagement ring on my finger. “If you’re leaving me, better just say it now.” Oli said jokingly but I could tell he was scared to know what I had to say. “Oli, can we talk about the wedding?” I asked and he shrugged. “What about it?” he asked and it was my turn to shrug. “For starters, when is the wedding going to be?” I asked and he was about to respond when he shut his mouth. “Abby, I’m so sorry, I totally forgot about something as simple as the damn date because of the stuff with Drop Dead and…” he began ranting and I knew he was never going to shut up so I kissed him lightly and when I pulled away I smiled at him. “Oli, it’s okay, I just wanted to know a date so we can send out Save the Date cards so there isn’t just five people at our wedding because they don’t know about it.” I said and he nodded. He brought up a calendar on his phone and I grabbed a calendar form the table next to the couch. “How about some time in October?” he asked and I flipped it open to October. “Won’t it be cold?” I asked and he shrugged his shoulders again, I have a feeling this will happen a lot today. “Not if it is inside Love.” He said with a chuckle. “You’re not touring?” I asked and he shook his head no. “Not for a while.” He asked and I looked at the dates. “Maybe the middle of the month or near the end, and where should we get married?” I asked and he sighed. “This is going to be a lot of work isn’t it? Well, how about we go church hunting later and we can start there?” he suggested and I nodded in agreement. “You watch Scarlett which I get ready babe.” I said and kissed his cheek before I ran upstairs.

I quickly straightened my hair, put a black bow in and did my regular makeup. I put on a nice dress that was black on the bottom and pink on the top with a gold band dividing the two colors. I slid on my black heels and I put on a black bracelet and a golden heart necklace along with my ‘Love’ ring. I grabbed my purse before running downstairs. Oli smiled at me and ran upstairs to change, I smiled over at Scarlett who was already in her little coat and shoes, ready to go. I picked her up after I put on my coat. Oli came downstairs and grabbed his keys before we headed out the door. I buckled Scarlett in the back and got in the passenger side next to Oli; he started the car and pulled out of the driveway, this is going to be a long day.
