Chapter 14 Parents Approval

Maya and I have been dating for 33 days now. We're always together. Both of our parents haven't really met each other (other than Shawn and my dad.) My parents arranged a dinner with Maya's family tonight. It's probably going to be a huge disaster. You never know.
Maya's POV:
We have been dating for more than 1 month. So he invited my family to dinner. I'm hoping nothing bad happens. You never know.
Farkle's POV:
The doorbell rang. I opened the door. I saw Maya and her family. I said "Hey beautiful!" She kissed my cheek and we hugged. Then her mom hugged me tight. She whispered "You better make her happy." I get it. She wants the best for Maya. I truly am. Shawn just shakes my hand. He's new to the father stuff.
Maya's POV:
Farkle's parents came out of a corner. His mom wraps her arms around me tight. "I've always wanted a daughter." Then his dad said "It's very nice to see you again, Maya. The last time I saw you, you pushed him away." Well that was pretty harsh. But I can deal with it. His mom yelled "Is that really necessary Stuart?" Shawn puts his hand on Stuart's shoulder. "You don't want to mess with my daughter." It looked like they were gonna fight, but then Farkle said "We should start eating dinner." It's going to be a long night.
Farkle's POV:
We all sat down. It was silent for about 2 minutes. Maya's mom killed the silence by saying "How long have you been together?" We both said 1 month. Maya looked at the golden locket around her neck. I gave her it for our anniversary. Inside it says "I want all of you. Your flaws. Your imperfections. I want only you."

Maya said "I'm in love with Farkle." There is silence again. Everyone stops eating. They all look at us. My mom said "What are you talking about? Both of you are too young. How can you be in love when you're in 9th grade?" I gulped. "You can't stop yourself from falling in love. It's impossible. We're meant to be." I paused. I held Maya's hand into mine. "And if you don't like the fact of us being  together, just don't make a deal out of it. We don't need your approval. Maya and I have been through enough." We leave the table.
Maya's POV:
As we're heading towards the door, someone grabs my arm. It's my mom. "Shawn and I actually support you guys." I smiled.
My family (including Farkle) went back home. He was sitting on my couch. I sat next to him.
I whispered "Thank you for choosing me, instead of your parents." He said "I would do anything for you." We snuggled under this blanket.
