I pushed Smackle away from me. "Smackle, what are you doing? You know I'm with Maya. You're not going to break us apart." I walked away from her. I went to find Maya. I see her with Riley. She's crying. Riley said "Farkle, I can't believe you would do such a thing! The last person she wants to see is you. Please leave her alone." She saw Smackle kissing me. Maya runs to her room. I followed her. She locked her door. I put my head against it. "Maya.... please. Let me explain. You know I love you. Smackle can't break us apart. I pushed her away. It didn't mean anything to me. Please, Maya." She opens the door. "Farkle, I love you so much I can't even breathe. Even if she didn't kiss you, it still hurts to love you. I mean we're already in love and we're sixteen. We haven't met other people. And have you noticed? We had sacrificed and fought for each other. I don't think our love is worth fighting for anymore. If you love, you would let me go." My heart broke into millions of pieces. I said "If that's what you want. You're free to go now." I tried to hold back my tears but they ended up falling. I left her apartment alone. I looked at my watch. It's 12:07 a.m. She broke up with me on Christmas. That's a great present. It felt nice to be with Maya Penelope Hart. She loved me. And I love her. She had a point. We fell in love too young not knowing who else is out there. By the way, Maya was way out of my league. I don't know how I got a girl, especially Maya, to fall in love with me. Those four months we're the best days of my life.
