North
I help Allie get onto the bed. She's in the same sweatpants she wore yesterday with a baggy red old shirt. I picked her up from the meet and greet at the center and she really enjoyed talking to people. I'm happy it went well for her. She definitely needs to be comfortable and motivated to get better.
"It was so cool. There's so many people there temporarily disabled like I am." She said.
I laughed, "You can't say that. They're just in need of exercise."
She laughed back, "Yeah because we're all technically cripple in some way."
I spoke through my laughing, "You don't say that!"
She grinned, "But it's true! It was wheel chair city in there. At one point we were just playing wheel chair bumper cars."
She's so cute and happy. I've never seen her so pure of happiness and enjoyment. Not since we were teenagers. Even when things were normal, she was never this joyful ... Now it makes me wonder why. Why now when she can't remember anything?
I shook my head, "Did you make any friends?"
She shrugged, "Not entirely. Not yet at least."
"I'm sure you will when you actually start, you know." I responded.
"Yeah, but how was your meeting with the ginger?" She asked. "I forgot her name already."
"Doctor Coewitz." I replied.
She nodded, "Yes, yes, Doctor Coewitz. The therapist. My therapist."
"Yes, your therapist. It was good," I said. "You'll be meeting with her weekend afternoons and Thursday afternoons."
She grimaced slightly, "Weekends?"
I frowned, "I know, I know. She's only available on those days. I'm sorry."
She shrugged, "Well is she cool at least? I mean she's only three years older than us so ..."
I nodded, "Yeah, she's nice. I think you'll be comfortable with her."
"How long do I have to see her for?" She asked.
"Well usually its a two hour thing, but we'll see how the first appointment goes." I answered.
"Oh. Is she expensive?"
I chuckled slightly, "Actually I don't know. I'm the one that insisted on giving her two hundred dollars per session. She never actually gave me a set price."
She spoke, "Shit. That's a lot of money for just talking to me."
"Well she's not just talking to you, she's helping you. It's worth it because you're going to get better, mentally." I said.
She smiled, "You think so?"
I nod my head with a smile. That's all I really want, for her to get better. She stares at me with soft eyes. My phone starts to vibrate loudly on my nightstand by the bed. I stretch to it only to see an unknown number as the caller identification. I pick it up anyway.
I spoke, "Ms. Millian speaking."
"Hi, I'm calling on behalf of Allie Samson, she works here at Ink Warriors," The girl said.
