Allie
I splash water on my face to wake myself up. Not like I really got much sleep anyway. I was up most of the night listening to North breathe and thinking about all the possible outcomes of this very moment.
My eyes feel like cylinder blocks and my face feels stiff. North had to call out of work for this one, but I doubt she's not going to get any calls about files or deals or whatever it is that they bug her about. She says all the time that she's never really off from work and that very reason right there makes her want to move even more.
I don't blame her, it's like she's already the owner of the business. I already made my peace with the situation of moving. I don't care. I just want North to be happy.
The scariest part about this situation is that my Mom could just not show up. Something can come up and prevent her from leaving the house. So many things can go wrong and I feel like this is too good to be true. Is this really going to work out as planned? Will she make it in time? North told me that if something is meant to be then it will be, but I don't like relying on just words.
I feel her hands slide around my backside. Her chest pushes up against my back and I look into the mirror to see her looking back.
She smiled, "You're sexy."
I smirked, "You're not so bad yourself."
I feel her finger tips press in the arch of my back, "Today's the day, huh?"
I looked down into the sink and sighed, "Yeah."
"You know, I'm proud of you."
"Yeah?" I responded. "For what?"
"For meeting with her. You wouldn't have done this a few months ago." She answered.
"Things change for the better I guess."
"I love you." She said and then kissed my back.
"I love you too. Let's do this."

I listen closely to the pitter patter of rain drops crashing against the car windows. Its dark and pretty gloomy today of course. What perfect timing on the way to Maliah's. I've been pressing my forehead against the window going over everything I want to talk about. I've also had my fair share of a few flashbacks.
"You're really quiet." North said turning into Maliah's street.
"Guess I'm just saving all my words for my Mom, you know?"
"I figured."
We make it into the weird open area in front of Maliah's place, but there's an extra car here. A very old and ugly looking one that's shit green with some paint scraped off. The tires look worn down and a little muddy which is confusing because there's no mud where my old house is.
"That's her car," I said out loud, feeling my heart swell up. "She's here."
"As much as I want to say it is, I won't because that could be someone else's car. Like another patient for example." She said.
"No," I argued. "Maliah never has anyone over when we come."
She parked the car a few feet away and turned it off, "True, but like I said. You never know."
I quickly unbuckle my seat belt, feeling my adrenaline kick up. North places her hand on my shoulder and gives me a weird look, "Hey. I know this is going to be tough on you, well maybe. I don't know. Try not to get angry, okay?"
"I mean I'm not entirely angry." I replied.
"I know, but look what happened with you and Jay. You started talking about eating pussy better than him."
