North

I'm at work right now, itching my stockings and adjusting my blazer while Sherry is trying to convince me to go get a psychic reading with her.

"You want to go get a psychic reading? Why in the world do you want to do that?" I said to Sherry.

She put her hands on her hips,  "Because they're real. Plus I need to know if my love life is gonna spice up anytime soon."

I laughed, "You seriously believe in that stuff?"

"Hell to the yeah!"

I shook my head, "Jesus, Sherry. I didn't know you were into that mumbo jumbo."

She smirked devilishly, "I love dealing with skeptics as much as love proving a man wrong."

"That stuff isn't real and I'm not going with you. That's a waste of money." I said.

"Milly please! I don't want to go into that place alone." She begged.

I stack folders on my desk, "What makes you think I want to accompany you!?"

"North, look at you. You're sitting here not even doing anything on your two hour break. If you don't get your ass outside with me."

"I'm organizing!" I argued. "My office is a mess!"

She rolled her eyes and grabbed my arm. Sherry is a strong woman, literally. She can crush my skinny ass any day. So I don't fight back.  I just let her drag me out of my office leaving my mess of folders on my desk.

"God I can't believe you right now." I said quietly as she pulls me out into the cubicles.

"You're too uptight you need to live a little."

She finally lets my arm go. I yawn as we make our way past the security checkpoint. I'm definitely tired as hell right now. Allie had a nightmare - memory - or whatever you call it last night and it broke my sleep. She was tired too this morning and a little off.

Hopefully Maliah doesn't cancel the next appointment. Allie really needs to get this stuff off of her chest. I know she's only getting more stressed and confused by the second. She thinks a lot because it's the only thing she can do and thinking drives you insane after a while.

Yesterday afternoon was really just amazing in its own way despite the fact that Tony almost saw us. We kissed most of the time in the woods. She even told me that she really loved me yesterday. I felt stupid and I still do because I didn't know how to react. My words got all mixed up and I freaked out.

"I seriously can't believe we're going to that weird ass place," I said as we stepped out of the building. "You can't be this bored."

"Oh you don't wanna know how bored I've been." She replied.

It's nice out today. It's not too cold either. The sun is bright and the city is crowded as always.

The place we're going too is literally called "Psychic Readings" I personally am a skeptic of anything like this. You have to be a skeptic of everything. Being gullible isn't a good trait.

"Why are you so crazy about finding someone anyway? I mean I know I'm not one to talk, but ... I didn't care so much when I was without Allie." I said.

"That's the thing though. You have your soul mate. I'm still looking for mine." She replied.

I shrugged, "I don't think you purposely find your soul mate. They kinda just ... come into your life you know."
