I woke up in the large king-sized bed. I slowly rolled over and met Dan's tired eyes. I jumped slightly at our closeness.
"Sorry" I blushed shuffling back a bit.
"Mmm" Dan mumbled and pulled me closer.
His long hair was covering half of his face, he looked so funny when it wasn't sticking up. I looked back at his eyes to see that they'd closed again and he was snoring lightly. I giggled and, if possible, he pulled me closer. I buried my head into his chest and closed my eyes again.
"Daniellaaaa" Kyle called opening the door.
"Ahh Kyle you dick, get out" Dan mumbled and I shuffled out of his warm hold. "Ehh Lily" Dan moaned.
"What? It's weird for us to 'cuddle' like that" I giggled.
"What? Why?" Dan asked reaching his arms out again.
"Because I'm your daughter" I laughed.
"So, fathers and daughters can 'cuddle'" Dan laughed.
"Yeah, but it's weird cause you're not my real dad" I laughed. I did wish that I was back in his arms though, I felt safe, and he was really warm.
"But-but you're so warm, I'm colddd" Dan moaned.
"Get up you lazy ass, it's twenty past ten" Kyle said pulling the duvet off me and Dan.
"Nooo" Dan fumbled for the duvet, but Kyle had already thrown it on the floor.
"Come on Lilypad, let's get you fed" Kyle said taking my hand and pulling me out of bed.
"I'm not a dog you know" I laughed as Kyle tugged on my arm.
"I know" he said patting my head with his free arm. "You're more of a cat, I like cats." He said stroking my hair, like he was petting a cat.
"Kyle" I said snapping him out of his strange little trance.
"Sorry, weirdo mode" he chuckled lugging me into the kitchen.
"You're always in weirdo mode" I giggled as I joined the guys on the stools that were pulled up to the island in the middle of the kitchen.
"Oh Danielllllll" Kyle called and a moment later an angry looking Dan trudged into the room.
I burst out laughing at his 'what do you want' expression and he glared at me, with a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
"I'm cooking!" Kyle said enthusiastically.
"No!" Dan said running over to the kitchen.
"What? Why not?" Kyle asked as Dan took the spatula out of his hand.
"Because, knowing you, you'll burn the whole hotel down" Dan chuckled slightly.
"Whaaatttt?" Kyle said, completely shocked.
"Aw come on Dan, let Kyle cook" Woody laughed.
"Yeah" me and Will said at the same time.
"Plwease Dannyboy" Kyle said doing his best puppy dog face.
"Okay, fine, but the only reason I'm in this mood is because of you, don't ever call me 'Dannyboy again okay?" Dan pointed at Kyle.
"Okay, okay, we get it, you're not a morning person" Kyle laughed cracking some eggs into a pan.
"No, I'm not" Dan slumped on the sofa and I laughed as he instantly fell asleep again.
********************************
Kyle flipped the last pancake and tossed it onto the mound of pancakes in the middle of the table.
"Tadaaa!!" Kyle sang as he put maple syrup on the table.
"Where did you get all this stuff from?" I asked. "I thought hotels don't come with a fully stocked fridge?"
"Oh, we went shopping this morning whilst you two lazy asses slept together" Kyle winked.
"What? We weren't sleeping together!" I said raising my voice slightly.
"Yeah, you were asleep, together" Kyle laughed.
I glared at him and Will ran over to the sleeping Dan.
"Dan!" Will yelled in his face, resulting in a punch in the stomach. "Uhh" Will moaned as he sunk to he floor clutching his stomach.
"Sorry Will " Dan sand helping him up.
"No worries" Will laughed walking over to the table and sitting down.
"Wow, Kyle, these smell great!" Dan said sitting next to me. "Which one of you cooked them?" Dan asked curiously.
"I did!" Kyle objected.
"Mmhmm" Dan said looking at Woody, Will and myself, with his eyebrows raised.
"Kyle cooked them" I laughed.
"Yeah! I can cook pancakes you know" Kyle said in a 'duu' voice.
"Hmm... Okay..." Dan's aid suspiciously. "Na, I'm just kidding, they look great Kyle!" Dan laughed.
"Thank you" Kyle bowed, causing me to giggle. "Dig in!" Kyle yelled excitedly as he handed us all cutlery.
I pulled a pancake onto my plate and poured maple syrup all over it. I rolled it up and cut it into small pieces. I passed Dan the syrup and he squirted it all over the table.
"Oops" he chuckled wiping it up from the table with his finger, then licking his finger.
I giggled and put the first piece into my mouth. Flavour burst through my tastebuds like fireworks. It was the most delicious thing I've ever eaten.
"Oh my god Kyle!" I giggled. "This is absolutely delicious!" I popped another piece into my mouth.
I soon devoured the pancake and pulled another into my plate, coating it with syrup.
**********************************
"Urgh" I groaned as I slumped onto the sofa.
"I can never eat again" Dan groaned slumping next to me. "I have never eaten so many pancakes in my life"
"You ate like..." I paused to think about how many pancakes Dan actually ate. "10" I laughed.
"More than that, I ate like twelve, how many did you have?" Dan asked patting his stomach.
"Uh, I don't know, like five" I giggled. "How the hell did you manage to eat twelve pancakes? They were so filling!"
"Urgh, I don't know, but I wish I hadn't. Damn Kyle it's all your fault!" Dan called out to Kyle who was still eating.
"What? Me?" Kyle said with a mouthful of pancakes.
"Yeah" Dan groaned rolling onto his back and putting his head on my lap, causing my cheeks to turn rosy.
"How?" Kyle asked, his mouth still full.
"Because you cooked! How did you manage to cook such delicious pancakes?" Dan moaned.
"Because I'm talented" Kyle said smugly, after swallowing his mouthful.
Me and Dan looked at each other and burst out laughing.
"What?" Kyle said, trying to hide the laughter on his face.
Dan opened his mouth to speak but was cut off by a phone ringing. He sat up and pulled his phone out of his pocket.
"Hello?" He said into the phone. "Oh, okay....yeah....sure....great!....thanks, bye!" He said down the phone.
"Who was it?" Woody asked as he dumped his plate into the sink.
"It was Sam, they want us to play a second show in Manchester!" Dan's aid excitedly.
"Really?" Woody asked excitedly.
"Yeah! Our first one will be at the Manchester Academy one, and the second will be at the Manchester Apollo!" Dan said, he sounded like a child on Christmas morning.
"The Apollo?!" I chocked.
"Uh, yeah?" Dan asked warily.
"That's huge! I've been before! It was actually the first time I saw you guys live. I went to watch Two Door Cinema Club, on the second night, and it was a massive surprise when I was stood in the crowd and you suddenly came on!" I laughed.
"I remember that day, you guys were bloody mental." Dan laughed.
"Yeah, it was insane." Kyle laughed, stuffing another pancake into his mouth.
"Jesus Kyle! How many have you eaten?" I laughed.
"Uh, like thirteen, these are really good!" He laughed taking a bite of his pancake. "Mmmm" he went cross eyed and I burst out laughing.
******************************
We headed out of the hotel doors and we looked famous. We all had sunglasses on, strange I know, it was November, Dan had his grey hoodie on, underneath his denim jacket, with he collar turned up. The guys walked slightly behind me, as if I was the leader of the pack. We had planned to do this, of course, it was Kyle's idea. We were all hesitant at the start but Kyle managed to convince us that it would be funny. We walked like the popular girls in a high school, in an American chick flick. As heads turned out way, I tried to keep a straight face... But failed. I spun around to face the guys and let Dan take the lead.
"I have no idea where we're going" I whispered, leaning over to Kyle.
"Me neither, Dan moved the van yesterday" he whispered back.
We turned down a side street and located our van. We had already packed our things into it, we were heading into Manchester!
We piled into the van and Dan started the engine. I shuffled next to him and Will climbed in next to me, followed by Kyle and Woody.
"Manchesta 'ere we cum" Dan said attempting to do a Manchester accent.
"Hey! People in manchester don't talk like that!" I said prodding Dan's arm.
"Ye dey do bro" Dan laughed.
"I don't talk like that" I pouted.
"You've lived in London for three years, your practically a Londoner" Dan laughed.
"No, I'm Mancunian and proud" I said crossing my arms.
"Mancunian?" Dan, Kyle, Will and Woody said at the same time.
"Yeah" I said looking at them all.
"Mancunian? Is that even a word?" Kyle laughed.
"Yes!" I pouted and they all raised their eyebrows. "It is!"
"Okay, sure" Dan said trying to hide a smile.
"Shut up" I said shoving my shoulder into his arm playfully.
Everyone laughed and we were on the road. We were about half way there when I started singing.
"We're going to Manchester, where it always rains, but I used to live there, so it is great" I sang to the tune of 'it's raining, it's poring, the old man is snoring, he went to bed and bumped his head and couldn't get up on the morning'.
(Don't know if anyone used to sing this, but I always did when it rained)
Everyone looked at me and chuckled slightly.
"What?" I giggled. "I'm excited! I've not been there in years! I wonder if anyone remembers me..." I trailed off.
"They will and they're going to be so jealous that you live with us" Dan said wiggling his eyebrows and lightly elbowing me in the side.
I giggled and turned the radio on. I tuned into the only channel that we could get.
"News for all you Bastille Stormers out there, word on the street is that there is a fifth member of Bastille!" A young woman's voice came from the radio.
"What?" I said shocked. "I'm not a member of Bastille? I'm just performing with you on this one tour..." I trailed off.
"Her name is Lily and she's fifteen, some rumours say she's, twenty seven year old, Dan Smith's girlfriend! She's a bit young don't you think?" The woman laughed.
"Girlfriend?!" Dan chocked.
"What? No, no, I'm not his girlfriend!" I yelled at the radio. "I'm his daughter!"
"Lil, they can't hear you..." Kyle laughed.
"Kyle, this is not funny. This is going to go worldwide!" I exclaimed.
"Lily, this is... indie radio station" Kyle read from the name on the radio. "Have you ever heard of it?"
"No" I admitted.
"Exactly, I bet no one is even listening" Kyle laughed.
"Let us know what you think, call us on 01234 567890" the woman said.
I quickly pulled out my phone and began to type the number in.
"What are you doing" Dan laughed.
"I'm letting them know what I think" I said bluntly as I pressed the call button.
After a few rings I heard a male voice through my phone.
"Please hold, you will be through shortly" he said and then I heard some quiet music whilst I had been put on hold.
"Oh, we have out first caller" the woman said.
"Hello?" I heard through the radio and through my phone.
"Hi, my name is Lily, Dan's girlfriend" I said sarcastically into the phone.
"Damn Lily, give me the phone" Dan said putting the phone on speaker and taking it into his hand. "Hi, this is Dan" he said.
"Ladies and gentlemen, Dan Smith" the woman said cheerily into the phone. "So are the rumours true? Are you going out with a fifteen year old?"
"No. Lily is my daughter. I adopted her." Dan said into the phone.
"Dan?" I asked quietly.
I didn't think he wanted to announce that I was his daughter. I thought that he would want to keep it a secret. I thought that maybe he was ashamed of me. Obviously not. He's just admitted that I was his daughter on the radio.
Dan turned and smiled at me.
"Daughter?" The woman laughed.
"Yes" Dan smiled at me.
"Did you hear that everybody? Dan Smith has adopted! What a kind man! So Dan, I hear that she can sing, isn't she touring with you right now?" The woman asked.
"Yes, she's amazing" Dan smiled and Will patted my shoulder.
"So where is your next destination?" The woman asked.
"We're driving to Manchester right now" Dan said.
"Great! We're all so excited for your new album, when does it come out again?" She asked.
"25th November" Dan said.
"Everybody go and buy yourselves one when it comes out. I can guarantee it will be amazing!" The woman cheered and Dan laughed nervously. "Well, sorry Dan, we've run out of time, the amazing Dan Smith everybody!" She cheered and the phone went dead.
Will turned up the radio.
"Now, if you have tickets to see Bastille, here's a sneak preview of what is to come, this is taken from their performance last night in Sheffield." She said and then a beep came.
Suddenly you could hear cheers from the crowd and then the music started. They were playing Flaws. Dan's voice came first and then mine. I blushed and covered my face with my hair.
"Oh my god I sound so terrible!" I said putting my head into my hands in embarrassment.
"What? You sound great!" Dan laughed.
The song ended and a roar of screams and cheers erupted from the speakers.
"Wasn't she great? I think she's the next big star!" The woman said and I blushed.
We switched the radio station to Radio 1 and continued the journey in silence.
