My eyes slowly opened and light flooded in through a crack in my curtains. I yawned and pulled myself away from my bed. I slipped my glasses on and pulled my grey hoodie over my pyjamas. I slowly made my way out of my room and into the living room where Dan was.
"She lives!" he laughed.
I raised my eyebrows in a questioning way. What did he mean by that?
"What time is it?" I asked.
"Half twelve"
"So its not that late" I laughed. "Where's Ralph?" I asked looing round.
"He had to leave, but he left those for you" Dan nodded towards the large pile of prizes we'd won yesterday.
"Ah cool, thanks Ralph" I said, flopping onto the sofa next to Dan.
"He's not here" Dan laughed.
"I know, I was just... Never mind" I laughed.
Dan was on his laptop so I switched the TV on. As it was switching on I glanced at Dan and a blush crept onto my cheeks as I saw that he was wearing his glasses, he looked so adorable. I averted my eyes back to the TV before Dan caught me looking at him. I flicked through the channels and found How I Met Your Mother. I smiled and looked at Dan. He looked up from his laptop and smiled at me. He sighed and laughed as he saw my eyes flicker to the TV where Ted was.
"I don't look like Ted" he protested.
"Yes you do, even Ralph said you did yesterday" I giggled.
"What? When?" Dan sounded alarmed.
"Uh, when we were watching TV, How I Met Your Mother to be exact" I laughed.
Dan glared playfully at me before turning back to his laptop. I saw that he was on Twitter, replying to some tweets. I smiled to myself and turned back to the TV.

Dan shut his laptop and placed it on the table. He leaned back into the sofa and put his arm around my shoulders. I leaned into him and closed my eyes.
"I missed being at home" Dan chuckled.
"I missed having a home" I smiled to myself. I finally have a place to call home, with a family.
"Aw Lily" Dan sighed sympathetically.
"What? Oh don't feel sorry for me, that's not why I said it." I opened my eyes and looked into Dan's. "I said it because I'm happy. I have a home and a family and I'm very lucky to have that" I smiled.
Dan's face lit up with a smile and he brought me into a hug.
"Ah I'm hungry and we have no food, come on, lets go shopping" Dan laughed standing up and walking into the kitchen.
"Okay" I muttered and walked into my room.
I pulled out my blue skinny jeans and my white T-shirt with piano keys on it. I quickly ran into the bathroom and washed my hair. I quickly changed and applied a little but of makeup, before walking out to find Dan putting his shoes on.
"The guys are coming round later, we're working on our new album" Dan smiled.
"Oooh new album" I said with a hint if excitement in my voice, inside though I was screaming from the top of my mind lungs. Yes that's a thing now. I just made it a thing. Mind lungs.
"Come on, get your shoes on!" Dan clapped his hands and laughed.
"Oh yeah, shopping, sorry" I laughed, slipping my blue converse on. "Ready!"
"Let's go!" Dan laughed as we walked out of the door.
We got in the lift and I broke the silence.
"So, what's on the new album?" I asked, highly excited.
"It's a secret" Dan tapped his nose, smiling.
"What? Dan, I'm your daughter, that's not fair" I said.
"You're a fan right?" He asked and a large smile spread across my face.
"Yes, so because I'm your favourite fan and you love me, I get to hear the album before anyone else?" I asked excitedly.
"Nope" he laughed. "But I do love you" he smiled.
"Whaaaat?" I squealed and suddenly it hit me that he said he loves me. "Love you too" I smiled.
"You're a fan, and we want to surprise our fans" he smiled.
"Dan pleaassee" I held my hands together and gave him my best puppy eyes.
"Nope" he laughed.
"Fine, but I'll hear you when you're practicing anyway" I muttered looking at my feet and swinging my arms.
"Okay, fine, you can't hear the songs because they're not written yet" Dan blurted out.
"Oh, okay, so what are you doing today then?" I asked as we walked out of the lift and into the cold November air.
"Well, I have some ideas and the guys are coming round to help develop the ideas, and so is Mark" Dan said as we walked down the road.
"Mark?" I asked.
I know who Mark is, but I didn't want to seem like I was a stalker or something.
"He helps me produce the music and is a good friend of mine" Dan smiled.
"Oh right" I smiled. I knew that.
I shivered as a gust of wind whipped my hair around my face.
"Why couldn't we have driven, it's freezing" I said, my teeth chattering.
"Because it's only a ten minute walk away" Dan said.
"But that's ten minutes in the freezing conditions of a British November" I looked at Dan who had his arms folded and his shoulders up to his ears, like me.
"It's not that cold" Dan said.
"I can see you shivering" I laughed.
"Shu'up" he laughed.
We walked in a comfortable silence for a few minutes. I could see Tesco at the end of the road and smiled to myself.
"Oh look who it is" someone shouted from behind us.
I recognised that obnoxious, squeaky voice. It was Molly. I didn't dare turn around, I just looked at Dan. I think he noticed because he pulled his hood up. Either that or he was just cold. Did he think they were talking to him? Of course he did, he's famous now.
"Oi! Orphan girl!" A low voice shouted, Alex.
Dan turned to look at me and I shook my head, telling him to ignore it.
"Hey! Lily! I'm talking to you!" Alex shouted again.
I risked it and turned around. When I saw the whole group of my former bullies, I clung to Dan's arm. He turned around and looked questioningly at me.
"Everything alright Lil?" Dan whispered.
"Um, yeah" I plastered a fake smile on my face and my eyes flickered to the group that were approaching us quickly. I saw their smirks and held Dan's arm tighter. "No, uh, can we go inside, I'm, uh, cold" I said.
"Yeah sure" Dan said as we turned around.
He took one last glance at the group before walking into Tesco, with me still clung to his arm.
"Lily, who were those people" Dan asked, grabbing a basket and looking in my eyes.
"Uh, they were, uh, friends from my old school" I stuttered.
"Sure they were" Dan muttered sarcastically. "We'll talk later" he said in a fatherly tone.
I was about to object but I gave in, knowing that he wouldn't.
We wandered around the supermarket occasionally putting things in the basket.
**********************************
"Thank you, have a nice day" the woman behind the till said as we took our bags and walked out of the supermarket.
My heart thudded furiously as I saw the group were standing outside. Dan sensed my sudden panic and turned to me.
"Who are they?" Dan asked.
"They're some kids from my old school, they used to bully me because I'm an orphan" I sighed, looking at my shoes.
"You're not an orphan" Dan said and I looked up from my converse. "You've got me" Dan smiled.
My face lit up with a smile and I hugged him tightly, probably whacking him with the shopping bags I had in my hands. He returned the hug, trying not to hit me with his bags. I laughed and pulled away.
"Come on, the guys are coming soon" I laughed.
"Oh yeah" Dan laughed and we headed out of the door.
I'd completely forgotten about the group of students standing outside. When I saw them I froze. Dan turned stopped walking and turned around.
"Lily?" He asked. "It's fine, I'm here" Dan reassured me.
"Yeah, okay, sorry" I whispered as I carried on walking.
As we walked past them I heard sniggers coming from some of them. I sighed with relief as we managed to walk past them without them doing or saying something. My heart stopped as I heard a shout.
"Oh my god, Lily!" Someone squealed excitedly.
I spun around and saw Erica running towards me. I hid behind Dan who just stared at the sqealing girl, running towards us.
"Lily, what are you doing? It's me, Erica, your best friend, don't you remember me?" She asked, the fake hurt was clear in her perky voice.
"I, um, sorry, hi" I stuttered, stepping slightly from behind Dan.
"Hi, sorry, I hope you don't mind but we really have to be going" Dan said politely and I smiled a thank you at him.
"Oh, yeah, sure, sorry, uh, Lily, here's my number, text me 'kay babes?" She said handing me a piece of paper.
"Uh, sure" I smiled shyly.
They were going to do something, I can feel it coming.
"It was nice meeting you, bye" Dan flashed a fake smile, turning around, the smile quickly disappeared of his face as he rolled his eyes.
I giggled quietly and he let out a low chuckle.
"Bye!" Erica squealed.
We made a hasty exit, almost running. I threw the paper with her number on it in the bin as I passed it. When I were certain they were out of sight I stopped. Dan stopped moments later, turning to face me.
"Lil?" Dan asked.
"I-uh-" I started but I couldn't finish. It could wait. "Never mind" I smiled, starting to walk.
Dan shrugged it off and we walked back to the flat in silence.
