The CΔfe

We walked down the road, looking for a cafe or somewhere we could eat.

"Look! Over there!" Kyle yelled and ran across the road. Luckily there were no cars or he would have been run over.

We laughed and walked over to Kyle who was standing in front of a small cafe. We walked inside and found a table in the corner of the room. We picked our food and Will went up to order it. Dan and Woody were having a small conversation and Kyle began talking to me.

"Lily" he said.

"Yeah?" I replied turning to him.

"Look over there" he said pointing to a woman reading a magazine.

"What is it?" I asked, unsure as to what he was showing me.

"Look at what she's reading" he said excitedly.

"A magazine" I said.

"Yeah, but look at what type of magazine" he giggled like a girl.

I looked over again and burst out laughing. She was reading a cat magazine.

"How cool is that magazine, I have to ask her where she got it from. I need it" he said staring at the woman.

She looked over and looked right at Kyle, who was staring at the woman, completely fascinated by her magazine.

"There's my cue" he said standing up and walking over to her.

She smiled and he sat down in the seat in front of her. I laughed as he pointed to her magazine.

"What's Kyle doing?" Dan asked.

"She has a cat magazine" I laughed.

Dan and Woody laughed and Will returned.

"Where's Kyle?" He asked.

"Over there" I pointed to Kyle and Will turned round.

"What is he doing?" Will laughed.

"She has a cat magazine" I repeated.

"Oh god" Will laughed.

We sat chatting for a few minutes and a waiter came with our drinks.

"Um, isn't there supposed to be five of you? I have five drinks" he said confused.

"Oh, yeah, Kyle will be back in a minute, I hope" Will laughed and whispered the "I hope".

We laughed and the waiter handed out the drinks. He walked away to get our food.

"Kyle!" Dan called.

Kyle's head whipped up from the cat magazine and glared at Dan.

"What?" He called back.

I burst out laughing as they were having a conversation from different sides of the cafe, I feel sorry for the other people in here.

"Drinks are here and food is coming in a minute" Dan shouted.

"Okay" Kyle yelled and said something to the woman he was talking to.

He waved at her and came trotting back to us. He slipped into the seat in front of me and picked up his glass of coke. He slurped down half of it whilst I laughed.

The waiter returned with our food and handed it out to us. I smiled at my ham, cheese and tomato baguette and looked up. Everyone was looking at me. I blushed and looked down. I heard some chuckles and looked up again.

"What?" I asked shyly.

"Nothing" Dan laughed.

"What are you laughing at?" I asked a little bit more seriously.

"You, the look on your face, you looked like you would marry it" Kyle laughed.

"I'm not going to marry my lunch. I am going to eat it though." I giggled and picked up my baguette.

Everyone laughed and tucked into their food. I took a bite and my tastebuds were so overwhelmed with flavour I started laughing. And then choking.

"Oh my god, Lily, are you okay?" Dan asked worriedly.

I continued coughing, trying to stop, and shook my head. I was choking on my food, I'm not going to be okay.

"Shit, what can I do?" Dan panicked.

"Hit her back" Kyle said.

"Oh, okay" Dan stuttered and began tapping my back.

"Jesus Dan, she's choking, tapping her back isn't going to stop her" Kyle said.

"Sorry" Dan mumbled.

I managed to stop choking, but my eyes were watering, a lot. I swallowed my food, which was still in my mouth, gross, I know, and began to wipe the tears from my eyes.

"Are you okay?" Dan asked.

"Fine" I laughed.

"You didn't sound fine, five seconds ago" he chuckled.

"Dan, seriously, I'm okay" I laughed.

"Okay" he laughed.

We continued eating in silence.

The cafe door opened and a cold draft whipped around my skin. I looked up to see who had entered. I locked eyes with a familiar pair of bright blue eyes. I smiled at Phoebe as she walked into the cafe. She returned it, flashing a set of perfect white teeth. Everyone on our table, turned to the door to see Phoebe standing awkwardly. She blushed when they all smiled at her. Dan waved her over and she shyly walked towards us.

"Hey Phoebe!" Will smiled.

"Hey guys" she smiled nervously.

"Why don't you join us?" Dan asked.

"Uh, sure, if you don't mind" she looked down and played with the button on her denim jacket.

"Not at all" Dan smiled and she sat down in the spare seat on our table that was next to Kyle.

"So what have you been up to?" Will asked her.

"Oh, not much, just come from school, it's our lunch hour so I thought I'd come to my favourite cafe and, uh, have lunch" she giggled nervously.

"Cool, so how old are you then?" Woody asked.

"Uh, I've just turned seventeen" she smiled.

"Oh, cool" Woody smiled.

"Yeah, cool, hey Lily, how old are you?" She asked turning to me.

"Fifteen" I smiled.

"Wow, you're a brave fifteen year old" she giggled.

"Thanks" I looked down at my empty plate to hide my blush.

We talked with Phoebe for a while until she had to leave, because she needed to be back at school. We stayed in the cafe for another half an hour after Phoebe left and headed back to the hotel.

We were all sat in mine and Dan's hotel room, watching the small TV. We were all sat on the beds, Kyle was leaning on Dan, Will was sat with his legs crossed, Woody was sat on the end of the bed and I was sat behind Woody with my chin on his shoulder. My phone buzzed and I shuffled to the back of the bed. I unlocked it to see I had a missed call and a text from Josie and a text from Will. I opened Will's text first.

Will : Cool! I've never been to Glasgow before, what's it like there? Xx

I smiled and typed a reply.

Lily : Glasgow is great! We went to a little cafe and the food was amazing, what have you been up to today? Xx

I opened the message from Josie next.

Josie : Hey girl! How are you? What have you done today? Where's your next tour stop? Ah I'm so jealous! But not in an 'I'm going to kill you' way, just a friendly way, miss you Lily xxxx

I smiled and replied.

Lily : Hey Jo! Please, one question at a time ;) I'm good, we went to a cafe today omg the food was amazing! I started choking though and you should have seen Dan's face, he looked so scared! Haha tomorrow we're going to Edinburgh, our final stop, then we can come back to London, ah I miss it there haha miss you too Jo xxxx

I slid my phone back into my pocket and turned my attention back to whatever we were watching. I noticed Kyle looking at me so I turned to look at him. He raised his eyebrows and winked so I gave him a 'what?' Look. He giggled and everyone looked between Kyle and me. I blushed and looked down.

"Lily was texting Will" Kyle teased.

"No I wasn't" I protested.

"Who were you texting then?" He laughed.

"Josie" I stated.

He raised his eyebrows and everyone laughed.

"Kyle stop teasing me. Seriously. I don't like it" I moaned.

"Sorry Lily" he laughed and turned back to the screen.

I sighed and looked at the screen too. I wish they'd stop teasing me.
