Adjustments and Hunger

Days had passed since Kai had awoken as a Chevalier,and already he could feel the great change in his body. He observed how his horrid injuries had healed,leaving no trace behind. Kai also realized he could hear exceptionally well. To the point he could hear a single drop of water falling from a faucet a great distance away from him. And loud noises irritated him greatly. When Julia and David entered the room to continue their tests on him. It was true they had Rikku before to watch the great change that happened within the human body.

But Rikku never showed any vast changes,nothing except miraculous healing. Kai was different,over the course of time Kai's muscled had greatly increased. He was no longer that scrawny young man David had met in Okinawa with the bad attitude. Now he was different,a force to be reckoned with. He was a Chevalier. Kai layed still as Julia attached ivs to his skin. Once upon of time this would  have bothered him. But it didnt.

It felt like a mosquito bite to Kai now. "How are you feeling?"Julia asked as she continued to type information on her laptop. Determined to record her current discovery for future generations. Kai flexed his bicep while reaching his right hand towards the bright light above. Lately he didn't like the light, it didn't burn him. No it was more of an annoyance. He detested when the light blinded him. It appeared his new eyes were more sensitive before and the light made him cringe. "Does the light bother you Kai?"Julia questioned,her voice carrying and echoing throughout the small room.

Kai gripped onto his head,the intensity of the light and Julia's voice pounding against his skull. He gritted his teeth,feeling his new fangs protrude from his gums. Was it this hard for Rikku? For Saya? For Leia? Julia stepped over to Kai,placing a gentle hand on his shoulder causing him to turn his now glowing gaze towards her. And that's when he saw it. Those veins pumping blood through Julia's neck. It's what Kai wanted. What he craved. Blood.

Yes Julia and the others had been supplying Kai blood through blood transfusions. But they never seemed to do the trick. In the end he was always hungry. He wanted to drink from the source. Everyone knew this, and the little blood bags he was being given was nothing but an appetizer. Sensing that something was off Julia quickly left the room,locking the door behind her. Fearing that in his current state Kai was abit out of control. It was true he had amazing potential as a Chevalier but he did not count in the constant blood lust. How did everyone else deal with this?

Kai slumped to his knees,yanking the ivs from his flesh. All the while gripping onto his throat. Feeling the liquid fire forming in his throat. He released a ragged gasp as he released an irritated roar into the air. He was hungry, no starving and no one seemed eager to help him in his time of need. Or so he thought. In the outskirts of Manhattan,Leia hid within the shadows of the alleyways. Her face splattered in crimson after her run in with a fairly large Chiropterin. She had won of course but even she had difficulty with such evolved creatures.

Wiping away the crimson smudges from her face,she pressed her back against the cool brick of the wall. Sighing lighting,feeling her limbs become rigged. She was thirsty,more than thirsty she was famished. And killing Chiropterins in her current state was unsafe and a terrible hazard to Leia's health and wellbeing. Leia steadied her breathing until she heard a distinct roar which rung in her ears. But this wasn't just any Chiropterin roar. No. It was someone Leia knew all too well. It was Kai. And he needed her. Not caring how tired she was Leia ran using her Chiropterin Mode to increase her speed to a mere blur.

In no time Leia made it to the small apartment the Red Shield currently resided. It looked lik3 a small apartment but really Red Shield owned the entire complex and within it were it's many labs. And in one of these rooms Kai was there. Waiting for her. Following her intuition Leia walked through the halls of the building,stopping near a single door where Kai's scent lignered. Effortlessly Leia kicked the door down,not caring about the damage to see Kai. He held onto his throat and struggled to breathe.

Yet the moment he layed his crimson gaze on Leia,his mind was put at ease.  She was there,and she would help him. He knew it. Leia then knelt beside Kai peering into his hungry crimson eyes " Your hungry."She whispered to him,before pulling down her shirt abit to reveal her dainty neck."it's alright."Leia whispered,her voice music to Kai's ears as he swiftly pinning Leia to the floor. His breathing heavily labored as he struggled to maintain him composure. "Y-You sure?"Kai whispered in her ear before finding himself slowly gliding his tongue down Leia's neck causing her to shudder. "Y-yes,it's the only way to quench your hunger."Leia breathed before feeling Kai immediately sinking his fangs into her delicate flesh.

Leia closed her eyes, feeling her body becoming hot and tingling all over. At the thought of Kai drinking from her. She released a brief moan,pleasure mixed in her gazed mind. She loved it. She loved being near Kai. She craved his touch even more sense his transformation and nothing else had changed. Kai slowly pulled away from Leia's neck feeling his hunger die away,he was finally satisfied. He then peered towards Leia who smiled lightly towards him. She had told him that things would be change within him. And she wasn't lying. But Kai was okay with that.

He then layed down beside Leia on the cold floor. Bo long caring it was cold before bringing Leia into a warm embrace. Taking her off guard but Leia enjoyed it. The two layed in each others arms for what seemed like forever. Enjoying eachother company and warm touch. For their brief moment of happiness would be fleeting. Because happiness never truly last forever. Especially for people like them.
